Re: How can I return to 7.10 once I have installed 8.04?

2008-04-10 Thread Natanael Olaiz
Is a little risky, but you can make a backup of your data and try:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/DowngradeHowto
Of course you have to change "hoary" and "breezy" to "hardy" and "gutsy"

Cheers,
Natanael.

hi,

yes, you're running with a SMP i686 kernel, when you installed ubuntu,
the system detect the kind of cpu you have and install the good kernel
alone.

So, you could use ardour i686.

Good use,

Laurent

ardour-i686

2008-04-10 Thread Vadim Hesse
hi.
I have Intel Celeron M and this processor type is maybe i686.
I'm not sure, Wikipedia definition says that Intel Celeron and Intel
Pentium M marked as i686 processors.
Am I right that my processor is i686?

It is possible to use i686 version of ardour?

uname -a:
Linux NBOX 2.6.24-15-rt #1 SMP PREEMPT RT Tue Apr 8 02:25:55 UTC 2008
i686 GNU/Linux

Should this mean, that my kernel is i686 optimized? How was this
possible by installing i386 version of Ubuntu Studio?

Thank you.

Re: Win Vista and Ubuntu.studio help

2008-04-10 Thread Dave Ricketzz
The Studio installer can make a Vista partition for
you. Be sure to defrag your Windows file system
first. Back-up any mission critical data.

Midisport firmware loader doesnt work on hardy beta

2008-04-10 Thread jean-martin barbut
Hi,

On Gutsy I finally managed to have my midisport firmware loder work
automatically when plugging. I had to modify udev rule for that.

Since I updated to hardy,it doesn't work anymore automatically. But it
loads manually.

What to do ?

JMartin

You can't AFAIK. Best to back up what is necessary and do a clean install.
