I'll second Pd-extended over the vanilla Pd and the small number of
externals that are currently included.

Good to know - is there anything tricky you have found about running

Hi,

I understand the connection window in Jack just fine...I think.

But, I don't grock the patchbay.

Can't seem to get it to show connections except between system node and
ardour node.

Doesn't show connections between in & outs.

Add new and select snapshot and doesn't restore what I've wired in
connections.

What am I missing?

Maurizio,

I have Del XPS1530 laptop and I use it with an FP10.

In general it has always worked. Seems to work even better with Hardy 64bit

This is *so* immature.

Face the facts: people get upset, angry, irritated, whatever else - and say
things they shouldn't say. It's an imperfect world.

To those who are still upset with Cory: I'm sure you've made a post
somewhere on the web that was way worse. Shall I dig it up? Sure, he's
supposed to be a leader - but doesn't that mean you should be a little more
forgiving?

Grow up already.

from a Windows only environment to a mixed Linux/Windows one (sorry,
i cannot drop windows, i have 15 years of music stored in proprietary,

So, i have a couple of question:

I am specifically thinking to a noisy Dell Studio XPS.

2) Is there any reasonably priced internal or USB or Firewire sound interface

Hi Larry,

I agree that workflow examples would be great and very helpful.
Audio in Linux is different in some ways, starting with jack and ending
probably somewhere out there..
Workflow examples could lead a lot of people by example and at the same
time serve as basic tutorials for the applications involved.
Those workflows could be demonstrated in various ways, via text,
pictures, audio or video.
Something like that could serve not only the ubuntu studio community
really well but the Linux Audio community as a whole.
All we need is someone to take this on, start it, and lead by example ;)

Best,
Philipp

Thanks Cory, for your example of true leadership.
I can't imagine a world with FOSS with people who didn't free their ass from
that mony-see-monkey-do mentality
of following the leaders like a bunch of brainwashed slaves.
Thanks also to remind us all that besides "good or bad" , there's also "the
ugly", a part that is kept secret by the world's leaders.
As this is all of-topic for this list, where can we go to talk about freedom
in a society, to build a society that is compatible
with FOSS ? I'm not interested in running "free" software in a prison
society ...

Thanks again Cory, and thanks to all people who give me a little hope in
life by providing Free Open Source Software.

In Freedom,
Peter Geirnaert.

Pd-extended definitely has to be included, if it's not already. It's a

I have to vote for Rezound. It's a very feature-rich and stable audio
editor, I know Audacity is included already, but I find it to be buggy at
the best of times. I'd like to advocate for inclusion of Rezound but not
the exclusion of Audacity - if that could be considered.

My other feelings include (but are not limited to - and yes I know this
deviates from the thread topic of already packaged apps):
LMMS - should be updated from 0.3.2 to 0.4.2 and included (I've begun
looking into this package update). 0.3.2 is too buggy to include.
Denemo - should be updated to 0.8.2 or dropped (musescore is up to date and
is included) though I don't use either (prefer lilypond) so maybe I'm
misguided.
LV2 - this standard needs to be pushed into UbuntuStudio (I'll try to help).
