For anyone interested: I put my computer at stress using shotwell (accidentally) some week ago. Resizing the display window when showing RAW fotos is _VERY_ CPU craving (very as in veryveryverymuch) Then i could clearly hear the pump going. So i guess my bios is taking care of it. -- Set Hallstrom AKA Sakrecoer http://sakrecoer.com -- ubuntu-studio-users mailing list ubuntu-studio-users@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-studio-users

I should add, that since this manipulation, my ethernet drivers are dead too :( so any internet dependent manoover is not possible at the moment... -- Set Hallstrom AKA Sakrecoer http://sakrecoer.com -- ubuntu-studio-users mailing list ubuntu-studio-users@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-studio-users
Re: [ubuntu-studio-users] Nvidia Drivers and x.org x server
Hi, You may want to look for your Nvidia model against the version of the driver to use. I have a GeForce FX5200 and nvidia-current driver package is NOT suitable for usage with this card, I had to rollback to nvidia-173 or something like that. See http://askubuntu.com/questions/153915/how-to-install-drivers-for-nvidia-geforce-fx-5200-on-preciseas a reference, it solved my problem (even though I have limited administration capabilities thru nvidia-settings). Thank you so very much for your precious time Mike and Vincent!!! Once i figured that out, reinstalling nvidia driver 319 solved my problem it seems. :) Yours, -- Set Hallstrom AKA Sakrecoer http://sakrecoer.com -- ubuntu-studio-users mailing list ubuntu-studio-users@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-studio-users
