Re: [ubuntu-studio-users] Nvidia Drivers and x.org x server
Hi, You may want to look for your Nvidia model against the version of the driver to use. I have a GeForce FX5200 and nvidia-current driver package is NOT suitable for usage with this card, I had to rollback to nvidia-173 or something like that. See http://askubuntu.com/questions/153915/how-to-install-drivers-for-nvidia-geforce-fx-5200-on-preciseas a reference, it solved my problem (even though I have limited administration capabilities thru nvidia-settings). Re: wacom tablet
Hi all, I use at home the smaller Wacom Tablet and it works perfect under Ubuntu. The only thing that is bugged is when I use it in split-screens, only one half is accessible. That said, it was under earlier Ubuntu distro, I think it was Lucid 10.04. I think that every Wacom tablet shold do the job since the driver is well support under Ubuntu. For Gimp, the Wacom acts as a mouse and the command buttons are configurable. It also works like a charm and are really good to use for drawing. -- Vincent 2012/4/27 Ralf Mardorf ralf.mard...@alice-dsl.net On Fri, 2012-04-27 at 18:59 +0200, bart deruyter wrote: http://www.bartart3d.be/ Nice logo. I started drawing again. I'm gifted, but didn't do it for a long time. I'm interested in a Linux compatible scanner and a tablet. I won an iPad2, which might be usable as a tablet too, unfortunately I can't get Wifi working and a pen for the iPad might be expensive. What wacom tablet is working good, when using GIMP? Re: Artistx?
Well I didn't saw any Ardour there, wich is, in my opinion, a basic stone in Audio Production.. Anyone has any relevant comments on this? It lacks documentation, and it seems pretty new! Why another distro for multimedia purposes? Do the managers of the project knew about Ubuntu-Studio? Are they pissed by something (first law of Raymond)? What's that? All the best! -- Vincent Le jeudi 07 juillet 2011 à 12:12 +0100, Hakan Koseoglu a écrit : Just noticed this on the Distrowatch's RSS feed, the aims appear to be identical to the UbuntuStudio or am I missing something? FWIW a quote from the website: Music software: PD and externals, Rosegarden, Ardour, TerminatorX, Cecilia/Csound. Yes on the front page I see it now, but not in the Software section. Missed that... :) Is this a kind of fork or something? A rebellion? haha! No additional comments by me, Ubuntu Studio and Debian are also missing an audio production capable kernel. I don't know this distro. -- Ubuntu-Studio-users mailing list Ubuntu-Studio-users@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-studio-users
