I've submitted a number of bug reports and received nothing there either. I
posted to
this list to see if anyone had luck with my device first, then I'll compare
notes.

So I am guessing that you have seen this:
http://www.ffado.org/?q=node/607

and have also been through this:
http://subversion.ffado.org/wiki

Also from their contact page:
http://www.ffado.org/?q=contact
is this tidbit:
"ffado-u...@lists.sourceforge.net - List for FFADO users, intended for
support".

Have you posted your question there as well?

Your original post was pretty vague. What errors are you getting, what
have you tried? There is lots that is missing. From the deafening
silence I would say that your device is not a very popular one around here.

Generally I find this to be a good guide for getting help:

I stay far away from firewire devices so I cannot be of more help.

The ffado (http://ffado.org/?q=node/71) project has accomplished this. This is
the
problem in a nutshell... nobody who knows what's going on has heard my pleas
for help!
I was hoping someone with a working echo audio firewire device would see this
thread.

Re: Echo Audio users?

2009-01-19 Thread Bill Brown
Hi Scott:

It looks like a driver isn't written for this card yet:
http://www.alsa-project.org/main/index.php/Matrix:Vendor-Echo_Corporation.
And I don't think it is possible to run jack without interacting with the
alsa drivers as some level.

HTH
Bill.

Re: Echo Audio users?

2009-01-18 Thread Scott
That's interesting. I have updated my Echo Audiofire12 with the manufacturer's
latest
firmware. I assume you mean the alsa-firmware package, right? Would I be
correct in
assuming that since my device is connected via firewire I don't need the
alsa-firmwares installed? Thanks for replying!

Re: Echo Audio users?

2009-01-18 Thread Bill Brown
Greetings Scott:

I use an echo audio Mia with varied success. The hang up for is so far have
been getting it working with the correct kernel. I needed to install the
echo audio firmware from http://www.medibuntu.org/ for it to work. After
that it works pretty well. You can sample some of my tracks here
http://www.earthbeats.net.

Echo Audio users?

2009-01-18 Thread Scott
Anyone else out there with an Echo Audio device? I need some general advice on
getting jackd running and operational with Ardour. What did you do? Do you
have some
steps you followed to get connected and recording?
