There are usually few help-buttons (I can't remember any..) and no tech support in that sense, however there are tutorials, mailinglist archives, IRC-channels and the likes. For me it was mostly trial and error as well as talking to guys on IRC and asking on mailinglists. Everyone goes the same road basically, and it could certainly be better documented. Re: JACK's behavior revealed another problem
Hello, excuse me again, but maybe I just miss a "help" button in JACK Control Setup Window. I'm used to read available docs before sending request to mailing list or contacting tech support. Maybe I'm just too impatient. Sorry again. Hello, thanks for help. Unfortunately, I can't type anything into Interface field of JACK Control setup window, since this field is greyed out. That is a solution found here, thanks to Rocklobsta: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/ubuntu-63/how-do-you-change-the-default-sound-card-in-kubuntu-499520/ -- Ubuntu-Studio-users mailing list Ubuntu-Studio-users@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-studio-users

In my case the relevant device is: card 1: UA25 [UA-25], device 0: USB Audio [USB Audio] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 Then open qjackctl's setup dialogue and enter the following in the interface field: 'hw:UA25' The relevant name in this case is UA25 which comes up just after 'card 1:'. If you do this jack is hardwired to the device name, not a possibly changing number. If you have more devices with the same name there are other options but this one is simpler and is enough in many cases.
