Re: ubuntu studio on a netbook?
Yes, the SSD might start to have problems earlier, and also the SSD writing speed is limited. But now most of the Netbooks have a standart HDD, so this might not be a problem, at least for the majority of the Netbook owners. I am curious about the processing capability to use as a home studio PC, but never tried. I have at home two netbooks, but one has SSD (Acer Aspire One) and the other is my wife Netbook, so I can't touch it ;-) I'm using an Energy Efficient Athlon 64 x2 running at 2200MHz, I have no processing power problems, but I think that it might be too much for an Atom. But Teza has good results with the Asus 1005HA, so I got curious to make a test when I have time :-) Best regards and Happy Christmas! Re: ubuntu studio on a netbook?
I am not sure abaut this, but I ear somewhere that using intensively the solidstate HD can destroy some sectors. so working in audio could damage the SolidState HD. If you have a normal hard drive i think it is ok. Please if I am wrong someone correct me.
