Developer mode translations are cut off

Status in Ubuntu Translations:
  Triaged
Status in “ubuntu-system-settings” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Some translatable strings in the Developer Mode page are cut off and
only part of the string is exposed in Launchpad for translation.

I believe this is due to how the strings in the code are broken up to
fit into a given horizontal column count. E.g. [1]:

text: i18n.tr("In Developer Mode, anyone can access, " +
"change or delete anything on this " +
"phone by connecting it to " +
    "another device.")

This results in only the first line of the string to be extracted and
put into the .pot file [2]

[Ubuntu-translations-coordinators] [Bug 1349959] Re: "Display brightness" message appears untranslated

2014-07-31 Thread Pat McGowan
the file po/CMakeLists.txt should add the path src/SystemSettings/*.qml in
QMLFILES to pick up the BrightnessSlider
Note this may not be necessary if we change the design to go to the brightness
panel instead.

Bug description:
If I go to the Battery section, the "Display brightness" string
appears always in English, regardless of the language used.

It seems it might not be marked for translation or skipped for
inclusion in the .pot file, as I can't see it as a translatable string
  in Launchpad:

[Ubuntu-translations-coordinators] [Bug 1350997] [NEW] Untranslated password/PIN prompt

2014-07-31 Thread David Planella
Public bug reported:

When security is set and prompted for a password, only the first part of
"Enter %1" is translated, where %1 is "password" or "code". In fact, I
could not find those two strings up for translation.

Not sure if this is for u-s-s or unity8, please feel free to retastk the
bug if necessary.
