[Ubuntu-translations-coordinators] [Bug 1075579] Re: Options during backup aren't completely readable

2017-08-12 Thread Michael Terry
Trunk notifications have been re-jiggered a bit and no longer have
buttons. So this gets fixed for free I guess. Thank you for the
report, sorry it languished so long!

Bug description:
This is affecting German users of GNOME, using 12.04.1 LTS:

~ Organise your Backups with Déjà Dup
  ~ Restart the computer
~ Look at the message, in the GNOME notification task bar: You can select
"Forts…", "Spät…" or "Date…". Especially by the last one, there could be
multiple meanings. A picture of the message is in the attachment.

The first thing would be that "Fortsetzen" in place of "Fort…" is viewed
(there is enough place),
the second would be that "Später" in place of "Spät…" is viewed (there is
enough place for one more character),
the third and last thing would be that someone find an other translation of
this option. (If the meaning is: Datensicherung abbrechen [cancel Backup], I
would suppose: Abbrechen [cancel])

[Ubuntu-translations-coordinators] [Bug 1398984] Re: Bootloop with system language Turkish on the Nexus 4

2014-12-04 Thread Michael Terry
This is from Mir's conversion of environment variables into program
options. It takes MIR_SERVER_PROMPT_FILE from unity8's upstart job and
converts it into "prompt-fIle" which causes the following error:

terminate called after throwing an instance of
'boost::exception_detail::clone_impl

  what():  unrecognised option 'prompt-fIle'

[Ubuntu-translations-coordinators] [Bug 1398984] Re: Bootloop with system language Turkish on the Nexus 4

2014-12-03 Thread Michael Terry
I'm going to change this but to unity8, since that is what is failing to
come up, not the system settings. I'm betting that the system
settings/wizard are correctly setting Turkish locale, then unity8 can't
deal with it.

[Ubuntu-translations-coordinators] [Bug 1398984] Re: Bootloop with system language Turkish on the Nexus 4

2014-12-03 Thread Michael Terry
The fact that this happens in Turkish makes me think it is due
(somewhere) to a common problem with Turkish localization: the "Turkish
i problem" [1].

Basically, tolower() or toupper() may not work like someone is
expecting, because they take locale into account.

When doing the same operation later in the system settings app, the

untranslated strings, but that the choice of language in the initial

unity8 (8.00+14.10.20140814.1-0ubuntu1) utopic; urgency=low

  [ Michael Terry ]
  * Add --lightdm= argument to ./run.sh that lets developers choose
which lightdm backend to use. Stop letting a user that is
immediately denied via PAM into the shell by fixing some assumptions
that a user which was not prompted was successfully authenticated.
This is not a common situation, you'd have to manually change your
PAM config. Fix a small console warning .
  * Make wrong-password handling much nicer by showing a pretty spinner
while we wait for PAM, by improving the prompt text to match
designs, by forcing the user to wait five seconds after every five
failed attemps, and by supporting (but not yet enabling) an opt-in
"factory-reset your phone after X failed attemps" feature.

Bug description:
  Version: deja-dup 20.0-0ubuntu3

Description: Deja-dup is not fully translated into Simplified
Chinese. Many of the main buttons are still in English (see attached
  photo)

  Steps to reproduce:
  1) Install Ubuntu 11.10 using Simplified Chinese as the default language.
  2) Start up deja-dup

  Actual Results:
Deja Dup is not fully translated into Chinese...see attached photos. There
are many parts that are translated, but the main 2 buttons to do backups and
restores are still in English.

  Expected results:
More translations need to be done on deja-dup.

[Ubuntu-translations-coordinators] [Bug 871895] Re: Deja-dup help translations are not packaged in Ubuntu

2011-10-11 Thread Michael Terry
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 869815 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/869815

pitti, I'm looking at bug 871895. pkgstriptranslations seems to
correctly make a _static_translations.tar.gz file (as well as a
_i386_translations.tar.gz for the mo files), but I don't see the files in
language-pack-gnome-fr-base (for example)
mterry: ah, that would be bug 869815
mterry: I suppose the next oneiric langpack update that we do will need
to be a full -base refresh, to pick up the lost translations
 sorry about that
I hacked around this for ubuntu-docs, but didn't pick up the other files any
more
 pitti, ah, ok

** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 869815

Title:
Deja-dup help translations are not packaged in Ubuntu

Status in Ubuntu Translations:
  New
Status in “deja-dup” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
The Déjà-dup manual is always in English, even though languages such
  as French are translated entirely.

The upstream Déjà-dup project has 2 translatable templates, the Ubuntu one
has only one.
It seems that Ubuntu forgot to sync the "-help" template.
