Title:
Wrong/confuse text on shutdown at unattended-upgrades

Status in Ubuntu Translations:
  In Progress
Status in unattended-upgrades package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  ProblemType: Bug
  DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.04
  Package: unattended-upgrades-0.90ubuntu0.9
  Uname: 4.4.0-104-generic #127-Ubuntu SMP
  Architecture: amd64

I've german systems, so when updates will be installed at shutdown
this text will be displayed at the screen.

  German:
"unattended upgrade läuft während des herunterfahrens weiter, es wird fünf
Sekunden lange gewartet"

  English:
"unattended upgrade runs during the shutdown, it waits for five seconds"

This sentence make absolutly no sence for me. Maybe it is an
translationproblem? Don't know text on the english ubuntuversion.
The problem is that some customer turned of some computers, because the
updates need more time then 5 seconds ;)

A better message will that was Windows10 displays at shutdown ...don't
turn off the computer, updates will be installed...

  Thanks and best Reagards

[Ubuntu-translations-coordinators] [Bug 1380380] Re: free(1) translated output columns misaligned/translation bug

2017-11-04 Thread schuko24
I looked at the translation comment.

"Translation Hint: You can use 9 character words in
* the header, and the words need to be right align to
* beginning of a number."

The column titles may have 9 characters, so I added spaces to the words
to have exactly that nine characters plus the space between the words. I
marked the translation as a suggestion, so please, dear reviewers, have
a look at it.

Status in Ubuntu Translations:

Bug description:
When making a call, the string "Rufaufbau zu" uses a large font, while
the following contact name uses a smaller font. I think the
preposition "zu" should not be larger than the noun it refers to.
That's why I suggest to replace "Rufaufbau zu" with "Rufaufbau …".

  Wrong German translation of "holiday"

Status in Holidays Scope:

Status in Today Scope:
  Invalid
Status in Ubuntu Translations:

Bug description:
The today scope can be configured to display the next holidays. The
label has a wrong German translation.

The word "holidays" can have two meanings in English:
  1. "official day without work" (German translation: "Feiertag" resp.
"Feiertage" when referring to a single or few days; "Ferien" when referring to
a longer period.)
  2. "vacation" (German translation: "Urlaub", i.e. a holiday trip.)

Currently, the German translation reads "Urlaub", which is meaning no. 2 and
obviously wrong in this context.
The correct translation in this context would be no. 1, but it may be
difficult to decide if "Feiertag(e)" or "Ferien" should be used.

(see also bug #1429548 describing the same problem for Italian
  translation)

As the title says, the german translation for the network indicator
