This is my bad and I apologize for the inconvinience. I got stated on

language pack ready before the UDS.

I was also a little fuzzy on the procedure when including the docs
translations, but as I can understand from Martins email, it should
still be possible to to get everything in there before the UDS.

Thanks. It looks like this was borne out of a lack of understanding by
everyone speaking in #ubuntu-translators yesterday about how the
process works!

Anyway I have this morning done an export of translations from
Launchpad and an upload of ubuntu-docs, which Martin is checking and
if all goes well, the translations will be included.

Just by way of a gentle protest, can I complain that the language pack
was gone ahead with today ahead of schedule *despite* a careful
consultation process during which no objections were made as to the
proposed timing, and *without* any advance warning. Fortunately I read
the scrollback in #ubuntu-translators and found out about this before
doing the work for an ubuntu-docs upload. But it's still a bit
annoying as I have wanted to do an ubuntu-docs upload this time around
to fix some bugs as well as translations, and these will now have to
wait 4 weeks.

Not too big a deal, but badly handled.

Re: [Ubuntu-translations-coordinators] Fwd: Draft of the language pack release schedule for Oneiric for review

2011-10-21 Thread Kenneth Nielsen

Hallo everyone and thanks for the feedback.

It seems that no body has any wild objections to the dates, so we will
keep them, with a note that the third pack should be a normal delta.

It also seems that the consensus is that we should have to full packs
and that the first one should definitely be one and then I would suggest
making either the fourth or the fifth one as well. Which one it is
depends on what our idea is how long into the stable release cycle the
translators work on the documentation. Any comments on that?

@Matthew I put the whole schedule in a google calendar that it is
possible to subscribe to, if that works for you. Otherwise you can
certainly have the dates as soon as I am done with the schedule, so you
can manually put those two dates in your calendar and/or I can email you
a reminder. Whatever you prefer.

@Matthew As far as Natty goes we never planned any. I'll start a
seperate discussion about whether we should do that as soon as I am done
with this schedule.

@Pitti I don't know what that text about the testing ppa is doing in
there ;) I'll correct it right away.

Regards Kenneth

2011-10-20 Thread Matthew East
By the way, is someone able to tell me which (if any) of the remaining
natty language pack updates are full?

It would be great to get reminders of these in some form (even just to
the translators mailing list), so that I can remember to update
ubuntu-docs in advance with new translations.

Re: [Ubuntu-translations-coordinators] Fwd: Draft of the language pack release schedule for Oneiric for review

2011-10-14 Thread Milo Casagrande
Hello everybody,

I read carefully the proposed schedule, and to me it looks OK.

If we can also plan two full langpacks, I would suggest to use the
third and fifth, or fourth and sixth uploads, in order now to provide
extensively time for translators to update documentation translations.
The third langpack is in January, and as David said is within the
Canonical Engineering Rally... I do not know if maybe that one would
be better to be a delta langpack.

Thanks Kenneth for the hard work!

Ciao.
