debian-installer is only 1st stage

The Debian Installer is a collection of packages maintained by the
installer development team in SVN (level1) and other packages that show
up during the installation process. These "other" packages are in level
2 to 5.

2. popularity-contest, console-data, iso-codes, tasksel
3. exim4, menu, xserver-xorg
4. samba
5. apt, dpkg, dictionaries-common, console-common, aptitude, newt, debconf

No, but because the average CDs are only 700M in size, while all the
languge packs are about the same. This means the installer CD can only
support the most commmon languages.
Our solution was to make a custom installer CD with proper Hungarian
support and distributing it via ubuntu.hu.

Well, I mean during installation. There are no langpack directory for
Swedish in the "live" environment.. only a few (dpkg, apt etc) in the
normal sv/LC_MESSAGES directory.
Many other languages have populated locale directories.
Maybe Swedish has been downsized due to the fact that there are only 10
million of us?

There seem to be strings coming from dpkg.. like "Preparing packagexx.."

Debian installer

2006-11-01 Thread TG
The Debian installer localization page
http://d-i.alioth.debian.org/i18n-doc/ mentiones 5 stage files to be
translated. But edgy has only one file
https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/edgy/+source/debian-installer/+pots/debian-installer/
Is this only one of the five or all of them in one file?

Swedish translations in Ubuntu 6.10

2006-11-01 Thread Daniel Nylander
I recently installed Ubuntu 6.10 from CD just to test out the Swedish
translations.

There are a lot of translations missing here.

The only ones I could find was (under /usr/share/locale/sv/LC_MESSAGES):
apt, debconf, dpkg, iso_3166_2, iso_3166, iso_4217, iso_639_3, iso_639,
libapt-inst1.1, libapt-pkg3.51

Most of the installation steps were translated. When reaching the end of
the copying files process, there were only English (preparing x )

Are the missing translation files gone on purpose or is there some
mistakes involved here? The translations made by me (and others) are
100% complete.

Daniel
