Installation-guide and upstream translations
Hi, It seems that upstream tanslations (made by Debian translators) are only imported in Launchpad if the upstream team worked with .po files and not directly with XML files. I had to import manually French translations to Launchpad. It's not very complicated since Debian source package contains all the necesary scripts to convert xml to po. Is there any way to have all translations, included XMl ones, imported automatically to Launchpad? -- Bruno -- ubuntu-translators mailing list ubuntu-translators@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-translators

Hi, 2009/4/3 Lars Wirzenius : > Would the doc and translations teams be OK with these changes? KDE packages
Hi, while looking at all the translatable packages in Launchpad my eyes got caught by some KDE packages that are without translations or with translations half done. Nothing new for a translation team, but the problem is that I and nobody in the Italian team that are KDE upstream translators know if those packages are coming from upstream, if they are coming from upstream but have been modified for Kubuntu or are Kubuntu specific. The one that really caught my eyes, and when I raised this issue, is system-config-printer-kde. I manually re-imported it because I knew it was fully translated upstream, but like for many other languages it is not. I'm linking some of those packages here: - system-config-printer-kde http://is.gd/qz6T - plasma-engine-systemmonitor http://is.gd/qztj - plasma-applet-networkmanager http://is.gd/qzua - plasma-applet-networkmanagement http://is.gd/qzzC - kpackagekit http://is.gd/qzBN (there is an upstream version of this package, but I can't find translations in it) - and others... Is there a way to find out if packages like those are not coming from upstream or if they have been customized for Kubuntu? Who should I / we contact? Looking at the Overview page of one package sometimes you may guess if it's coming from upstream or not... but it's not the best way to look into it... Other translators know something more? Any help to cast some light here would be appreciate. Proposed UI changes to computer-jargon
Greetings. I would like to upload a new version of computer-janitor, which would include a few changes to the user interface. The problem is that there were a few instances where the word "cruft" was being used, when it should have been fixed with something that is actually proper English. There are also some new strings, since I had forgotten to include the plugins in the POTFILES.in file. These should not break any documentation or existing translations, however. I'm attaching the diff for the fi.po file as an example of the changes. Description mistake in musicvideophotos section (ubuntu-doc)?
Hi, During translation of musicvideophotos template in ubuntu-doc package (jaunty) I found incorrect description of photoprint appliaction (Section 3.4.2 Advanced Photo Printing). Please look at the Point 3 that says "To change the amount of spacing between photos, change the Horizontal and Vertical settings under Gutters". I can't see such options in the photoprint (0.3.9), but instead I found Gap options under Layout, where I can set a free space between photos. Should I report a bug againts ubuntu-doc? Re: gfxboot-theme-ubuntu
As I was looking at the gfxboot-theme-ubuntu I noticed that there seem to be two overlapping locales for European Portuguese: Portuguese (pt) and Portuguese, Portugal (pt-PT). The second one has not been touched since 2006 and has far as I known the official locale for European Portuguese throughout Rosetta is pt. Shouldn't the pt-PT file be removed, since it is obsolete and may lead translators to duplicate efforts? Looking at the template details I can see that it is included in language-pack... but I don't know how gfxboox-theme is using lang-pack. I think this is an error and if we have time we should translate this template by 9th April . Difference between »bluez-gnome« and »gnome-bluetooth«
Hi, can anyone tell me the difference between bluez-gnome in Launchpad [1] and gnome-bluetooth in the GNOME upstream [2]? I've got the impression that all strings in bluez-gnome can also be found in gnome-bluetooth although I haven't checked this for each single string.
