I can't find some strings in Ubuntu translation files.

2012-09-25 Thread Ibrahim Saed
Hi everybody,

I can't find some strings in Ubuntu translation files.

These strings is:

"Ubuntu One" in System Settings and Dash: http://i.imgur.com/qYnMw.png

"k" that refer to Kilo in Software Updater: http://i.imgur.com/rnT7c.png

I don't know if these strings is not translatable or just I can't find the
translation files.

Can any one help me to find the translation files for these strings?

Thank you.

Quantal documentation string freeze in effect

2012-09-25 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Following the revised Release Schedule, Documentation String Freeze is
now in effect for Ubuntu 12.10 "Quantal Quetzal".

Translations have been opened for ubuntu-docs on Launchpad (opened
since Friday actually, but now the strings are frozen). Thanks Matthew
for setting that up again. If I remember correctly, we have fewer
changed strings than the last few ubuntu-docs releases.

I was not able to finish the ubuntu-doc screenshots yet but I will
send another email when the screenshots are finalized later this week.

The translation deadline for Quantal is on Tuesday October 9 at 10:30 UTC.

UIFe for ubiquity-slideshow-ubuntu

2012-09-25 Thread Dylan McCall
Hi,

I am requesting a UI freeze exception for ubiquity-slideshow-ubuntu:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity-slideshow-ubuntu/+bug/1056456

This will replace 13 strings with new ones contributed by the nice
folks at Canonical. This is mostly aesthetic, with some changes to
content: we're adding a mention of the new webapps feature and
removing some boring technical stuff. The welcome slide no longer
mentions Unity by name and the bit about Rhythmbox no longer babbles
about "advanced playback options." Sorry to be landing right on the
documentation string deadline with this one, but once this is merged
that will be it for the Ubuntu slideshow string changes.

Thank you :)

Dylan

Hi Ibrahim,

Sorry, that was my mistake. You're right, you can only use the
'ubuntu-bug' command line tool when reporting a bug against the package.

So please let me correct what I was stating in my previous e-mail:

- If you know the package affected, use:

ubuntu-bug (*)

- If you don't know the package affected, use:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-translations/+filebug

Thanks and sorry again for the confusion.

Cheers,
David.

(*) If you do this, it's also recommended that you open a bug task for
the ubuntu-translations project as well: by clicking the 'Also affects
project' link, and then entering 'ubuntu-translations' as a project. If
there is another project already set for the bug, simply click again on
the 'Choose another project' link.
