Clock core app now open for translation

2013-05-07 Thread David Planella
Hi all,

As part of the Core Apps project [1], I'm happy to announce the clock
app is now open for translation in Launchpad:

https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu-clock-app

You can install the Clock app or any of the other core apps on the
desktop or on a mobile devide from the Core Apps PPA [2]. We'll
progressively open the rest of the apps for translation once we've
tested that the i18n support works well for the Clock app.

Happy translating!

Cheers,
David.

Hi everyone,

Is it not a bit overkill to ask to translate digits
and numbers like 0, 15 co?

Otherwise, it's a pleasure to see that
core-apps i18n is coming along!

Cheers,
Nicolas

Hi Nicolas,

Not everyone uses the same digits, but one thing to bear in mind is that
some i18n functions that are taken care of on desktop apps might not be
available in QML or Javascript.

This is one of the reasons why I've wanted to open just one app for
translation for now: to identify any issues and make sure they're well
understood before opening the rest.

So this is very useful feedback. If anyone sees any issues, please do
file bugs at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-clock-app/+filebug

Translations support in the clock package should also land soon, and
then you'll be able to test your translations daily from the core apps PPA.

Otherwise, it's a pleasure to see that core-apps i18n is coming along!

Indeed! :-)

Cheers,
David.

 Cheers,
 Nicolas
