You would have to scroll to see all the text?

Please make the window big enough to read all without scrolling

As these fixes are not going to go into Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, they may go into

Keyboard shortcuts overlay text too long - Affects over 20 languages (IMHO)

2012-04-19 Thread Eduard Gotwig
Hey,

I want to inform you translators that the deadlines for translating Ubuntu
is nearly there, and I don't think that this bug is going to be fixed in
this short time.

So I recommend you to cut your text strings for the super key ubuntu unity
overlay to MAXIMAL 47 charackters . ( see
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/924840 )

Here are the templates :
https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/precise/+source/unity/+pots/unity

Please search for the right strings

The German Ubuntu Translator Team did that.

[Affects over 30 languages] ISOLINUX problems with translations; F1-F6 Options

2012-04-17 Thread Eduard Gotwig
Hello,

I want to inform you that the translations are simply to long for over 30
languages,

this affects:

AMNATIC

ASTURIANU

BELARUS

BOSANKSI

CATALA

CESTINA

DEUTSCH

EUSKARA

HRVATSKI

ISLENSKA

GEORGIAN

KANNADA

LAO

LITHUANIAN

LATVIAN

MALAYALAM

NORWEGIAN

POLSKI

PORTUGUES DO BRASIL (very bad)

SAAMI NOR.

SLOVAK

ALBANIAN

SERBIAN

UKRAINE

TELEGU

TIENG VIET

In these languages, the user is not able to read the last F6 Option from
the ISOLINUX menu.

Also I want to note that

BENGA

THAI

do not have any translations for the start options, and the F(unction)
Options, but for the Help (to find at F1)

I am unsure of GATEGO

The translations for HINDI and KHMER are broken in the Help (to find at F1)

If you know one of these languages PLEASE fix it.

I have to say that I dont know where the link to the translation series is,
I am sorry for that.

Please understand the importance of this, to users.

If you fixed a translation, you can mark it HERE:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1DHNz26wUJR6y8rUrR1zVJ_tYW3EoFAmOgwUMhSqY76k/edit,
too.

If I was wrong, I am sorry for that, please post that, too.

I thank you for helping :-)
