update-manager string change

but that seems to be the easiest way to notify both lists]
there is currently this bug:

the describes that the current text in update-manager does no longer
fit with the unity workflow and does no longer make much
sense. Matthew Paul Thomas wrote a new header text that is
unfortunately a string break. So I would like to upload a new
update-manager with the following new strings (that are very close to
the old strings):
- "Please upgrade to a later version of Ubuntu Linux."))
+ "Please upgrade to a later version of Ubuntu."))
+ text_label_main = _("These software updates have been
issued since this version of Ubuntu was released.")
- text_header = "%s" % _("Software
updates are available for this computer")

String change in unattended-upgrades
Hi, in order to fix a bug (well, a corner case condition when dpkg got interrupted because of e.g. power-failure ) in unattended-upgrades I had to add a string to explain the user the situation. I'm sorry for the inconvenience this causes you. Please note that the translation for this is not super-important as its a corner case and most people who see it (those who explicitely ask for mail from cron or unattended-upgrades themself) are probably more technical. Desktop users should never see the message, it will just fix the problem in the background. update-manager string change
Hi, in order to fix a bug in update-manager I had to change a string slightly. This is just a note to let you know about it. The bug in question is https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+bug/727069 and its about the fact that unity does not have a administration menu anymore so the old string is no longer valid. String addition in software-center
Hello, this is just a quick mail to let you know that I had to add strings to software-center in order to fix bug #554319. Software-center failed to check if installing a application would cause the removal of a existing one. It now warns about that. Sorry for the inconvenience that this causes. aptdaemon string addition
Hello, sorry for this, I uploaded a new aptdaemon that contians a string addition for a previously not handled error condition. The error shown when dpkg got interrupted and is in a unclean state. The alternative to this string freeze break was to not handle the error. It should show up in launchpad translations pretty soon and its a rare error condition (that still needs to be handled). There is a launchpad spec pending to break it down and move the translation into each individual package as a additional "ddtp-description .pot" (or something). But that seems to be not progressing. It will download the required translation data for your locale on apt-get update. So if you run with german locales all the time you should have it (german locales system-wide that is). The possible failures I can see: - german is not the system-wide language (just a gdm setting) If you could mail me the output of: $ cat /etc/default/locale $ ls /var/lib/apt/lists/*Translation* that would help me diagnosing the problem. Sorry for that, this was a last minute fix because upstart does not work in a vserver environment (or the other way around, a vserver does not support upstart) and upgrading will break the system badly. It was the choice between that or two new strings. The strings will be displayed very rarely, its not a common type of setup and only available in some virtual hosting environments.
