I've noticed that executing 'apport-bug' from the command line shows an
untranslated dialog, although it is the first time I've ever seen this
one.

Executing 'ubuntu-bug' from the command line or from an application's
Help menu, which is probably the most visible part, shows a translated
application on my system, so I could not reproduce the problem. Do you
know which executable shows untranslated on your system?, Could you
perhaps attach a screenshot next time you experience this?

The apport translation does seem to be included in the latest language
packs. Have you checked you've got the latest version?

$ locate apport.mo
/usr/share/locale-langpack/ca/LC_MESSAGES/apport.mo
/usr/share/locale-langpack/de/LC_MESSAGES/apport.mo
/usr/share/locale-langpack/en_CA/LC_MESSAGES/apport.mo
/usr/share/locale-langpack/en_GB/LC_MESSAGES/apport.mo
/usr/share/locale-langpack/es/LC_MESSAGES/apport.mo

$ dpkg -S apport.mo
language-pack-de-base: /usr/share/locale-langpack/de/LC_MESSAGES/apport.mo
language-pack-es-base: /usr/share/locale-langpack/es/LC_MESSAGES/apport.mo
language-pack-en-base: /usr/share/locale-langpack/en_GB/LC_MESSAGES/apport.mo
language-pack-ca-base: /usr/share/locale-langpack/ca/LC_MESSAGES/apport.mo
language-pack-en-base: /usr/share/locale-langpack/en_CA/LC_MESSAGES/apport.mo

$ dpkg -s language-pack-es-base | grep ^Version
Version: 1:9.10+20091022

David.

I could see this: http://people.ubuntu.com/~kelemeng/pix/apport_closed.png

And this string is not in the template:

Mmmm... Rather strange... I had the same language-pack-es-base version,
but the apport.mo wasn't there. Then I did apt-get --reinstall install
language-pack-es-base, and all works right. Maybe a hard disk problem?

At least, it works and the problem was gone. Great ;)

Thanks a lot,

Ricardo.

Apport dialog untranslated in Karmic?

2009-10-24 Thread Ricardo Pérez López
It seems that apport.mo file is missing in langpacks, so the Apport
crash dialogs shows untranslated in Karmic.

Can anybody confirm that the Apport crash dialog is untranslated?
