Hi helpful friends, Thank you for your helping. I decide Japanese translations: "ここから、みんなが繋がります" (In this place, we can connect to each other) In Japanese, "this place" mean "this place" and "start point". This translation has not same face of "Social from the Start", but I believe that these two phrase have same philosophy. For clarification, I expose my conception process about this issue(sorry for my Eng*r*ish ;)). "Social " is : - not only social network (and related softwares). (but included social network services, such as facebook, digg, twitter and more, with gwibber and any other implementations) - not only community(but included). - not only linking. - not only public. Perfect. That's the best way of saying it that i have seen so far in this thread. I am sorry i do ot know how to access documents for translating, hopefully someone else will help soon as people in here are very helpful & friendly. I used to do the strange short phrases or odd words translation in Rosetta. Without context it can be tricky tho. Hi Timo My suggestions for translating into spanish would be "Sociabl desde el inicio" and as for second option it would be "Mantente en contacto con tus amigos". Another English alternative would be " Stay in touch with friends". Hope this helps. Hi :) I am not sure that "popular" is a good equivalent for "social" in this context but it might be exactly right in your language. From its very beggining or start, Ubuntu wants and intends to address to all people that need an open, free, friendly, up to date, hi-tech, flexible operating system, accompanied with a certain "philosophy" that "touches" the human us! In other words Ubuntu, since its very first release, or since _your_ first installation of it in _your_ personal computer "treats" you, us, as whole, as a society! So, "Social form the Start" means, "Popular from its very first release, or its very first installation on your PC". "Social" meaning not only popular, but networking/networked, too! The "Start" is either Ubuntu's Start or _your_ Start with it. Hopefully helpfull! So far we have settled on the rather vague 'web accounts' (webkonti), which is both short and clean if not entirely equivalent. Paraphrasing "Social from the Start" for translators
Hi translators, I need your helps, at translating "Social from the Start". IMH English knowledge, "social" and "from the Start" have many many sense in English, literal translation can't cut through. We(Japanese translators) keep trying to translating, but we feel weird. "Social from the Start" is important symbol of 10.04/10.10 releases, this profession in English is powerful and appeal to the all person. But Japanese translated words does not symbolic. Yes, that is inveteracy gap in translating works. (including my limitations;) ) IMHO, this problem is not only Japanese, many non-English languages have same problem. So, dear *native English translators*, I need your power! "Social from the start" is highly important, please tell us (non-English translators) *your* synonymous words of "Social from the Start"s.
