Random addition: https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/trusty/+source/kubuntu-web-shortcuts was domained as desktop- rather than desktop_, so I guess going with that scheme is fine (the export is desktop_ anyway apparently). This generally applies to all KDE software: the template name is the domain name, so they have two domains really (the reason is that desktop files are handled differently from the rest of the software - i.e. upstream the localization would be merged into the actual desktop file as seen in the source instead of loaded at runtime). The kdesudo one, does not have anything in the queue, I guess it was already taken care of. These are the import queues for the other two: https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/trusty/+source/kde-config-whoopsie/+imports https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/trusty/+source/kubuntu-driver-manager/+imports Both of them have two different template names in the queue, and both do not have a translation domain set (the translation domain needs to be set correctly since it is the name that will be used to lookup translations). Do you have an idea of the translation domain names for those two packages? I can easily set kde-config-whoopsie and kubuntu-driver-manager respectively as domain names, but I don't know if they are correct. -- Milo Casagrande -- ubuntu-translators mailing list ubuntu-translators@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-translators

I only work on translations when trying to fix compile time errors or warnings for ubuntu-docs or serverguide The constant Launchpad timeout errors, drive me crazy, and waste a lot of time. I do not get timeout errors (or at least they are rare) when doing other stuff in launchpad. ... Thanks for your work, Milo! At least my app-install-data is now approved (pending import), and I also see that regarding the evolution reported there's nothing non-approved. So it looks good from .pot file / manual uploads side at least, and those generally are the most important ones to know to be functional. My remaining worry, which also comes from experiencing the history of problems in the past, is that if we're getting the latest upstream translations or not. I'm positive similar to Ask that at least Evolution translations from the upstream version we're shipping were not (properly?) imported to Launchpad. While LP showed >800 untranslated strings the fi.po in apt-get source evolution has only ~400 untranslated strings, and it was possible to copy strings directly from the fi.po we're shipping in the source to LP web interface. This was the case until it was fixed manually this week. -Timo -- ubuntu-translators mailing list ubuntu-translators@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-translators

I took a look, but it is hard to make sense of that pile of PO files. I approved and fixed some POT files (that at least I'm sure about), but others, have not even idea what template they should be or where they should go. Also, the continuous Launchpad time out errors do not make life easy. Do you have special cases that should be sped up? If so, please try to provide a direct lik, there are too many to go through. What might help is that if you know about a package that does not have a template set (Launchpad should sasy something like "No import target selected"), and you know for sure which template/target is, forward that information as well. Thanks! Ciao. -- Milo Casagrande -- ubuntu-translators mailing list ubuntu-translators@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-translators
