Re: [ubuntu-uk] Integrated graphics cards with Ubuntu

I don't think it's an Ubuntu problem as I downloaded another distro and the same thing happened. Have you tried the safe graphics option? Yes I did, same thing that's why I'm wondering if it's a hardware fault. IIRC, integrated Intel graphics cards have an open-source Intel driver available, in other words the open driver supports all functionality on the card! So the integrated Intel graphics would be the best option if I can't afford a machine with a dedicated card. I may keep this machine for a bit longer and get a machine with a decent spec. -- Kevin -- ubuntu-uk@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-uk https://wiki.kubuntu.org/UKTeam/
Re: [ubuntu-uk] Ubuntu-UK forum

I generally *only* use mailing lists and I do not find them a problem at all. What is it that you find user unfriendly about a mailing list? I do use various forums but never on a regular basis. I find web based access cumbersome. It would be absolutely essential - for me - that a forum had a good facility to receive and send email. There are very few of these I think. A notable type that I do use regularly is yahoogroups - they are both web based and also email based, and work well (on email anyway). Yahoo took the facilty over from the earlier egroups some years ago. Further information: The Ubuntu marketing list is currently discussing the possible use of a forum. The facility of a bridge between list and forum is said to be an easy thing tpo do: extract from a recent message: == [snip] Ryan says a bridge is no problem at all. Re: [ubuntu-uk] Ubuntu Stickers applied to bumpers!
Not quite a bumper sticker I know, but I made a small Ubuntu logo which I use on my blog. Feel free to leech the image all you want! http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k83/biffta69/wp-images/ubuntu-final.png On 05/01/07, alan c [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Alan Pope wrote: On Fri, 2007-01-05 at 12:05 +, alan c wrote: For the record, I have just put a sticker on the rear bumper of two vehicles! Same format bt individual not on a roll, the smaller of the two sizes. I did not use the expo ones because I already had more than enough. There are only just so many places... The stickers are external ones. Traditional car *window* stickers will be for inside use - adhesive on print side - I do not know if these exist. But I have become happy to sport bumper stickers.
