eGroupware (and I believe phpGroupware) have Calendars built in which
IIRC support iCal. Other than that, Zimbra has a calendar but I'm not
sure how well it integrates with Evolution (or the iPhone).

Google actually have their own sync for iPhone using MS Exchange (see
Google Sync). No need for neuvasync anymore!

What I want isn't something to copy my google calendar, but to fully
replace it.

Re: [ubuntu-uk] Server based calendar

2009-03-22 Thread Harry Rickards
You could use the Horde groupware suite (which comes with a calendar),
and then subscribe to your Google Calendar from in there. You could
then use Horde to view (any maybe edit, can you edit Google Calendar's
ics files?) your calendar, and get it synced with Evolution easily (I
believe Evolution comes with inbuilt Google Calendar support.) You
could use nuevasync to sync Google Calendar with your iphone (see a
guide at
http://www.ianfernando.com/2008/sync-google-calendar-with-iphone-3g/),
which emulates Microsoft Exchange.

[ubuntu-uk] Server based calendar

2009-03-22 Thread Simon Wears
I've been looking at putting together a small server to play with,
running a mail server. Then I started wondering about calendars, since
I use google calendar to organise myself.

Anyone know how I could go about setting up a web based calendar like
google calendar, that I can sync to clients like evolution, and my
iPhone? What kind of software is available?

John, I would go for the partial update with the network cable
attached, then probably reboot and manually run the update manager
again - see what happens.

Hi Mike,

thanks for the message. I just did the install, but nothing changed
with the network. Is there anything I can do to see if the wireless is
still working?

Re: [ubuntu-uk] Netbook suddenly stopped recognising network..,..,

2009-03-22 Thread John
I am sorry to inform everybody, but the wireless problem is worse now. I
now cant get my netbook to recognise any wireles, plus asks me to
update, when I click on the update button I get this message.#

=
Not All Updates can be installed.

Run a partial upgrade to install as many updates as possible

This can be caused by:-
* A previous update that didnt complete
* Problems with the installed software
* Unofficial software packages not supplied by Ubuntu
* Normal Changes of a Pre-released version of Ubuntu

I havent clicked on the update button yet, as I dont know what the
partial upgrade will do.

Does anybody have any ideas?

John.
