Re: [ubuntu-uk] Announcement: Manchester Release Party

2009-04-23 Thread Lucy
I'm going to be burning some CDs to bring along and I know some other
people are too, but the more the merrier!

I can't wait to try out the Jaunty netbook remix on my eeepc!

2009/4/22 Simon Wears munkyju...@googlemail.com:
I'm sure this is a silly thing to say, but can someone bring a means of
burning the Jaunty .iso? I have a spindle of ~90 CD's I'm not going to use
myself, so I'm going to bring them along for those who want a copy of Jaunty
 to take home with them.

Also, I _should_ have my laptop with me so we can all enjoy installing
Jaunty to it, since it's the very last laptop in my house running Windows.

If I have time, I'll try burn a few copies of 32bit Jaunty for people to
start using when I arrive, but no promises.

This reminds me, I think *most* people are coming straight in from
Manchester, but if anyone is getting the train like me and happens to
pass though Crewe, give me a poke :) always nice to share an hour trains
ride with other like minded people.

2009-04-23 Thread Steve Archer
Hey all

I've replaced the Dell'd Ubuntu (8.04) on my Mini9 with the Jaunty netbook
remix beta and it's great.

I've not had any noticeable issues with battery life or anything.

It's awesome as far as I'm concerned!

Cheers, Steve

On a similar note is there an iso for the Netbook Remix? I'd love to
install it on an old Dell C610 in replace of WattOS (based on Ubuntu),
but it doesn't boot off of USB.

You don't need /home on a separate partition to preserve it on
reinstall. See
