Great work! I wonder if the filter on the applications lens might be
worth a mention? It's quite a powerful tool on 12.04 and the easiest
way to find an app when you can't remember what it is called.

Really useful and concise summary for those of us upgrading LTS->LTS,
as you describe.

(One small point - the labelling in the general diagram makes it look
as though the Launcher is called 'The Software Centre'; it's not
clear that the labelled arrow is pointing to a particular icon rather
than naming the whole column.)

Really good contribution for those of us who haven't been keeping up!
Many thanks!

@mac: yes, ok I'll use a circle round the icons rather than an arrow

@alan.pope: I tried, see screen grab. I'll try again Tuesday evening.
The odp file is obtainable by replacing .pdf with .odp in the dropbox link.

Excellent! I do appreciate you taking the time to do this, and it's
nice that you used Ubuntu to make it :)

Yeah, I think BFB is the kinda 'internal' jokey name for it, but it's
stuck.

I think "Ubuntu Button" gets used by people who don't know it's BFB,
or don't like the name BFB.

Sure, but spreadubuntu is used for any material people find valuable
for the advocacy and marketing of Ubuntu. Your document certainly
fulfils that. If you could upload the source document that would also
be great, then people could easily translate it.

Thanks for sharing!

Nice work. Where do I file bugs? :)

Here

Minor niggle, the diagram in the top left implies that the button in
the top left of the screen with the Ubuntu logo on _is_ the dash. It's
actually referred to as the "BFB" (Big Freaking Button) or "Ubuntu
Button" which launches the dash.

Well, that is the first I've heard of that and I've been a happy Unity
user for the last couple of releases. When I hold my mouse over the
BFB, it says Dash Home, so I assumed that was the name of the button as
well as an indication of what it leads to.

I'll look at changing the name of the button to Ubuntu Button (can't you
guys think of a shorter name?)

Be good to upload it to spreadubuntu so others can get it.

OK, its not really marketing though.
