Re: [ubuntu-uk] Keep losing sound
Not sure if this will help, but flash player uses alsa by default, but if you install flashplugin-nonfree-extrasound it will try and output thought esound or oss, which might help but you would have to try, it falls back to also if it fails anyway. signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part -- ubuntu-uk@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-uk https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UKTeam/
Re: [ubuntu-uk] Firefox3 on network
Dont know anything about how FF3 bookmarks systems but seems you could mount the shared network drive using fstab, and then point FF3 to the path which would now appear local to FF3 or create a symbolic link from the network shark bookmarks to the location FF3 expects the files to be. Re: [ubuntu-uk] Using SAMBA to create users across multiple servers
Another option to look into is ebox which uses ldap as its backend, I have yet to try this but it looks good and is available for debian and ubuntu. Sme Server is a good option last time i used it though, it had no ldap backend for managing users and replication but you can just copy the users account files between servers as a backup job. This method also encrypts the data over any network, to do it in reverse you will have to see if you can get an ssh server for windows. Using it in the method suggested above is very quick and easy to setup, just make sure you choose sftp in filezilla for the connection.
