 Hi Chaps,

Just another reminder about *THE* event to be at this year. It's
running from this Thursday until Saturday. This is basically an event
where we have a chance to show of Linux, and Ubuntu. It is also a great
chance to meet other like minded people. It didn't happen last year,
but the year before was a great success[0]. It would be really good to
make this one even better. The venue is shared with the Mac Expo, so
it's a fantastic opportunity to show off Ubuntu to non-linux users, who
would unlikely come to a dedicated Linux expo.

Canonical have today confirmed that they will be there, and help us (the
 LoCo), where possible.

So I'm asking for more volunteers to help man the stand, or if you don't
fancy doing that just come along to show your support for Linux and
Ubuntu in general (make sure you wear your coveted Ubuntu geekware! :) ).

If you want to help out, add your name to the wiki page [1]. I would
also think it would be a good idea if you apply for tickets[2] aswell,
tickets are free if pre-booked (£12 on the door).

I have added my name and I plan to attend, however, although I applied
online for ticket some weeks ago, I do not appear to have received
them yet. Are they delivered by snail mail? I was away for a couple of
weeks recently and my mail box over filled, so I hope I have not lost
a tickets email
I did re register yesterday anyway, although I am not sure if the new
tickets (?) will arrive in time (by wednesday that is)

Any ideas?

You can pick up tickets on the door, at least you always have been
able to in the past.

As long as they have you on their computers they'll print you a new
pass without having to pay.

Hi Dave,

Explain to me how this is going to work.

Do we have a corner in a much larger exhibition?

Is there going to be enough Linux stuff to justify a trip from the South West?

Technically THE event of the year for me was my wedding. At least
that's what I'm telling the other half ;-)

I would have loved to have come along but due to low finances and the
fact I crashed my car last week I'm going to be unable to make it this
year. I presume the Linux Expo Live 2009 will be around the same time
next year?

Hi Sean,

The actual event at Olympia is split between Mac expo and Linux expo.
The Linux expo is then further split between commercial and
organisations (.org village [0]), normally I would expect us to be in
the .org village - however I did speak with Canonical's Marketting
director - and we may well end up sharing Canonical's stand if it is
more favourable for us.

I'll be travelling from Devon, probably by train - so if you want to
travel together, give me a nod.

He's less than a year old and he's already done a Ubuntu install???

Blimey -- you should introduce him to Linus.
