None if nobody uses it :) More seriously, there is a sliding scale, you can tell it how much of your bandwidth you want to give the FON. I have given it 25% of mine. Re: [ubuntu-uk] [OT] Cheap FON router offer
The other good thing about FON is that if you are a member, you can connect to the other FON spots around the world using you account. Quite good nowadays that the mobile/MID wifi gadgetry is getting so temptingly affordable... Re: [ubuntu-uk] [OT] Cheap FON router offer
I also discovered FON a while ago, and got 20 invitations as well. Somehow, maybe because I subscribed early to FON, I got a Linksys WRT54GL for free, followed by a Fonera last year, an antenna, and three more Foneras for free this year, which is great. So, lots of tinkering opportunities at home, as you may imagine. More than the time needed :-) On Jan 10, 2008 10:24 AM, Alan Pope <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Hi all, > > I've recently signed up with Fon - the community wifi people. [ubuntu-uk] [OT] Cheap FON router offer
Hi all, I've recently signed up with Fon - the community wifi people. They provide access points which you plug into your own internet connection and share it out. Once done you are able to use other peoples Fon access points when you're away from home. I've got a bunch of invites which enable you to get the access point and an extension antenna for around 8 quid delivered. This is pretty cheap given their normal price. Let me know if you'd like an invite and I'll send you one. I only have 9 (of 20) left, and if you don't use it within a week (i.e. order one) then I'll reserve the right to cancel the invite and send it to someone else. More details and answers to most questions at their website http://fon.com/ Cheers, Al. -- ubuntu-uk@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-uk https://wiki.kubuntu.org/UKTeam/
