Re: [ubuntu-uk] 10.10 install
Bodsda, Suggest you read this archive post of mine. When I was having similar difficulties I installed wicd as my network manager instead of the default and all was fine. Did it in 10.04 and 10.10 also. https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-uk/2010-July/025110.html -- DaveG > > Message: 8 > Date: Mon, 1 Nov 2010 21:09:21 + > From: bod...@googlemail.com > Subject: Re: [ubuntu-uk] 10.10 install > To: p...@pjitsolutions.co.uk,"Ubuntu-Uk" > Message-ID: > > <2093593203-1288645764-cardhu_decombobulator_blackberry.rim.net-11883529...@bda302.bisx.produk.on.blackberry> > > Content-Type: text/plain; charset="Windows-1252" > > Perhaps its an issue with the nm-applet on that toolbar on my netbook. > > Or its a problem with my eyesight :) > > I'll rerun the installer to double check. > > Cheers, > Bodsda > Sent from my BlackBerry? wireless device -- ubuntu-uk@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-uk https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UKTeam/

Perhaps its an issue with the nm-applet on that toolbar on my netbook. Or its a problem with my eyesight :) I'll rerun the installer to double check. However that was connected to an Ethernet cable. I'm sure I did see the usual network icon at the top of the screen though (I didn't try selecting a wireless network but I'd have thought you could have configured it). As to what it didn't install, not sure about that? I'm guessing it might have been the 3rd party MP3 codecs and maybe some updates. [ubuntu-uk] 10.10 install
Hi, I have just installed 10.10 on my netbook. During the installation, it told me that it couldn't connect to the internet, so I couldn't install the optional 3rd party stuff. This was through the gui installer, not full blown live cd -> installer. Did I just miss the network configuration options or does it not offer them at all?
