[ubuntu-uk] Gcompris and Unity
For some time i was using gcompris erase program (with my toddler most of the tome). Consists of moving a sponge that erases white squares that are overlayed an image. With unity these squares never quite removed leaving some leftovers. Today i moved to unity2D and it worked fine. i'm using ubuntu 11.10. Is it a gcompris problem, unity problem or nvidia problem? Should I wait for ubuntu 12.04? Should i look into installing a more up to date gcompris (compile from source or something?)-- ubuntu-uk@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-uk https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UKTeam/

Should i look into installing a more up to date gcompris (compile from source or something?) I wouldn't. I would go for the packaged version in 12.04 first. I doubt the problem is directly in gcompris anyway, it will just be triggering a bug in the nvidia drivers. That's because it's still in beta but the release is only a few days away so you should have no problem. To upgrade, press Alt+F2 and type in update-manager -d (without the quotes) into the command box, as explained on this page: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PrecisePangolin/TechnicalOverview/Beta2 Bruno -- ubuntu-uk@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-uk https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UKTeam/
