Hiya Colin,

Are you in the UK? I have a spare one i could ship to you for £49.99 +P&P :)
Could do it over ebay if you wanted/have an account so that we both get
paypal protection.

[ubuntu-uk] Joggler woes

2010-05-29 Thread Colin Law
I just want to get my Joggler story off my chest. It may make me feel better.

I ordered one shortly after the initial price cut. Unfortunately by
then they were out of stock but a few weeks later it arrived. I
started it up and all seemed well. Off it went to download the latest
software which appeared to go ok, but when it restarted it just sat
there forever with the O2 logo and nothing else happened.

I contacted their support team multiple times over the next couple of
weeks while they attempted to sort it out. Meanwhile I got Ubuntu up
and running on USB with only minor issues. Eventually O2 decided that
I should return the unit and they would replace it. Even though I did
not really need the built in s/w working I decided to do this in case
I ever wanted to sell it, if my planned Ubuntu requirement did not
come to fruition (running my weather station). I returned it and a
few days later instead of a replacement I got an email saying that
they had refunded my money.

OK, I thought, it is back on offer at £49.99 so I can just order a new
one. Unfortunately by this time it was out of stock and they were no
longer accepting orders. All my local O2 stores were out of stock
also. I rang sales but they are not accepting orders by phone either,
and the girl I spoke to said she was not sure that there would be any
more in. It is now approaching the end of the offer period and I do
not know whether I will ever get one. I wish I had not sent it back
now, but it is a bit late.

:(
