I also went to see Genius, I will definitely be visible and I'm fairly
sure I was wearing my Hardy t-shirt that day but can't be certain. I
will be wearing my hardy t-shirt to the IT crowd though, even though it
wont be seen.

You honestly wouldn't believe the lengths to which we go to ensure the
competition winner is a) not one of us (not actually that hard to do),
 b) random.

Buy me a pint at the Intrepid release party and I might just divulge
 the details. :)

When is the next podcast arriving anyway? It seems like ages since the last
 one.

We had a scheduling problem last week so it was recorded at the
weekend (a week late). It should be out this week.

(It's all recorded, edited and mixed, we just need to all listen to
and check the preview mix, decide on an episode name, encode it,
upload it, sync the mirrors and create the web pages, then announce
 it)

 Cheers,
 Al.

Last Friday, on my way home from work, I spotted a cyclist with an
Ubuntu rucksack at the Peak Lane traffic lights on the A27 between
Fareham and Titchfield. I think that is the first time I have spotted
an Ubuntu in the wild :-)

My local bus company gives names to all its buses - one is called
Intrepid. Does that count?

Wonder if they'd like to change the colour scheme and logo on that

I work in a IT, so to promote Ubuntu to my workmates I installed Hardy
onto a PC, fired up the 3d desktop, pointed the monitor at the rest of
the office and scrawled 'DIE' in flaming letters.

This attracted a bit of attention from slightly freaked out people
asking how I did it, allowing me to retort 'Tis Ubuntu my friend!'

 How did you do it?

 Sean

Just enable the 3d desktop in the appearance menu, then install
compizconfig-settings-manager from universe.

You can enable/disable all this kind of stuff in there, it'll also
tell you the key combinations to do this kinda stuff for each option.

Last year around bonfire night I set my screensaver to be a fireworks one
(can't remember what it was called, trying to find it again now). That
seemed to cause a small stir. That and cowsay -f s0d0mized hello .

We had a couple of Ubuntu spots recently. My daughter 5 year-old was
on the way to school in the car when she shouted Mummy Mummy!
Ubuntu!. She pointed to a lad of about 16 who was wearing an Ubuntu
T-shirt.

Also last Friday Clare and I went to the BBC Television Centre to see
the filming of episode 6 of a TV programme called 'Genius' with Dave
Gorman. There was one segment in it where I was behind the presenter
with my big Ubuntu logo jumper on. Dunno if it will be spot-able when
it's on next year.

Cheers,
Al.

That's awesome! Should the podcast be giving away a prize for the best
