For completeness, the wacom howto on the forum is the most comprehensive
and helpful page I've come across. Strangely it never appears near the
top of a google search.

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1780154

I used to need this page every time I upgraded the linux kernel, but
since moving to precise a few weeks ago
I haven't needed to. Perhaps wacom devices are at last getting better
support natively. CTH-460 (pen and tablet) working very well for me!

Regards,

Tim

We need some high-level information. Is the Wacom tablet:

   (a) Connected by a serial cable
   (b) Connected by a USB cable
   (c) Built-in (eg. Tablet computer)

Is the Wacom pad:

What makes/models/numbers do you see written on the Wacom tablet or

I don't know anything about Wacom tablets but there is a man who is
producing some excellent videos on how to use Gimp with the latest
Ubuntu and he uses such a tablet. He can be contacted at
www.meetthegimp.org and you can mention my name if you wish.
