[ubuntu-uk] anyone know which version of ubuntu is on preorder 64 or 32

2009-10-28 Thread simon bennie
Hey guys

I'm looking to have a cd give-away in my lab but i need to make sure that
the cd's on preorder from canonical are 64 bit (we are computation chemists
and need long integers). Anyone know what you get?

As far as I know you can select which one you want, so as long as you
select 64 bit, you should be fine.

Hello Simon,
If I recall correctly, the discs packaged and distributed by
Canonical are as follows:
Ubuntu (GNOME) Desktop Live CD - 32bits only
Kubuntu (KDE) Desktop Live CD - 32bits only
Ubuntu Server Edition - 64bits only

It is possible to download other architectures and burn them by
downloading the ISO from https://releases.ubuntu.com/ and burning them
to disk.

I hope this helps,
Chris.
