[ubuntu-uk] memory leaks
Pidgin and Firefox seem to have serious memory leaks at present on Hardy on my Compaq laptop (ATI Radeon). Is this something I can do anything about or do I just have to wait for a solution? Also, anybody know any alternative multi-protocol Linux IM clients that work in Gnome, as this is another alternative? Memory leak wise have you reported it as bugs against both packages if not you might want to :) -- Seek That Thy Might Know signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part -- ubuntu-uk@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-uk https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UKTeam/

Sean Kopete works (even though it's a KDE app) although it means it'll install some KDE components too. You could try aMSN which does the job (I've had varied success with aMSN). There is emesene but it looks from the description to be MSN only. Rob -- ubuntu-uk@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-uk https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UKTeam/

Sean Hi, If the issue is as bad as you are indicating, this needs to be reported as a bug on http://launchpad.net. Please supply as much info as possible about your system and if possible attach outputs of lspci and lshw if you can.
