Good question.

None if nobody uses it :)

More seriously, there is a sliding scale, you can tell it how much of your
bandwidth you want to give the FON.

I have given it 25% of mine.

Cheers,
Al.

The other good thing about FON is that if you are a member, you can connect
to the other FON
spots around the world using you account. Quite good nowadays that the
mobile/MID wifi gadgetry is
getting so temptingly affordable...

Hah, excellent.

Unfortunately I am in a residential area, not the kind of area that would
have people use my fon for money. So I can't see it getting used much other
than by me. But I like the fact that I now have a cheap, small, low power
access point which has secure (WPA) access for me and the wife (and the Wii)
and open for the neighbours.

Cheers,

2008-01-10 Thread Albert Vilella
I also discovered FON a while ago, and got 20 invitations as well.

Somehow, maybe because I subscribed early to FON, I got a Linksys WRT54GL
for free, followed
by a Fonera last year, an antenna, and three more Foneras for free this
year, which is great.

So, lots of tinkering opportunities at home, as you may imagine. More than
the time needed :-)
