Ill take a bunch to hand out down here. Who will be placing this order? Do we want to order a CD pack for release? Will we use it? If we'll use it we can order it, but I don't want to order a pack at release just because we can. We always have the option of ordering a pack later, they only take two weeks to get here. Re: [Ubuntu-US-CA] Placing Team Karmic CD Order
I think we'd use it, I can see it being useful to have during the release festivities, if only to save the servers from getting hammered for upgrades (though I suppose there is bittorrent). Who will be placing this order? On a related note, Canonical changed the criteria for how many CDs non-Ubuntu member individuals can receive through ShipIt. This won't affect getting CDs as a LoCo, but I figure some of the people on the list might individually be affected by it: http://blog.canonical.com/?p=264 -- Robert Wall www: http://rww.name/ -- Ubuntu-us-ca mailing list Ubuntu-us-ca@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-us-ca
Re: [Ubuntu-US-CA] Placing Team Karmic CD Order
Good catch, Grant. If we can get it sent to only one person, maybe we can alternate between sending it to NorCal and SoCal? (maybe have it sent to Grant this release, then someone in Southern California next release) On Oct 21, 2009, at 11:49 AM, Grant Bowman wrote: > According to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LoCoGettingCds we have two more > days to place a team order for Karmic CDs in order to avoid > unnecessary delays. [Ubuntu-US-CA] Placing Team Karmic CD Order
According to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LoCoGettingCds we have two more days to place a team order for Karmic CDs in order to avoid unnecessary delays. Who will be placing this order? To learn from our experiences, I am documenting the predictable steps we take for each release at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/CaliforniaTeam/ReleaseChecklist - feedback encouraged.
