Just in case you missed previous emails this week, I would like to let
everyone know.

There will be a gathering of Ubuntu minded people at our bi-monthly Salem
Ubuntu hour.  Taking place today (Friday) evening, downstairs at Broadway
coffeehouse, from 6:00pm to 7:00pm.

I just found out iPhil cannot make this evenings meeting, so feel free to
talk about me in my absence... LOL.  Other topics of greater interest "Ubuntu
coming to a city near you
,"
campaign, and how can we as a LoCo help?

There will also be people on hand, to answer your Linux/Ubuntu questions.

I don't know if I'll be able to attend.  We are scheduled to go out to
dinner with family, who are driving up Friday evening, so I'll have to play
it by ear.  If I can make it there, I will.

I don't know if our new guy (Warren) can make it either, he may still be in
Louisiana.

If I can't make it - Have a great meeting this Friday.

Sorry to hear the Salem bus system has let you down, and that it's "NEW"
inefficient transit system is hindering the downtown commerce.  We'll miss
your presence at the Ubuntu meeting.

However if you want you can use the Microportal "beam in link", to make a
telepresence.

With the major overhaul of the bus system, it'll be rare that I can make it
anymore until something changes that I get a closer job or different hours.
getting off at 2PM doesn't give me enough time to get home (that's an hour
and a half ride at least) get my stuff ready and eat a quick meal (about an
hour) then take the hour and a half ride to Broadway Commons.

The old bus system gave me time to spare.

security checklist*," which James found at GetHub.  It's a bit of a lengthy
read, however interesting.

Another great! topic could be: Are we going to have an Ubuntu Release party
this October?
We previously disused this topic in emails sent during the month of April,
2015.  The email's topic (thread)
was "*[Ubuntu Oregon] Release party*", just in case you need to preform an
email search to refresh your RAM.

The general consensuses back in April was, wait until September to plan
release party, because most of our key LoCo team members were attending
LFNW.

FYI: I believe the coming Ubuntu release 15.10 code named "Wily Werewolf,"
is due out around October 22nd, 2015.
