[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 491854] [NEW] Sync libxxf86vm 1:1.1.0-1 (main) from Debian experimental (main).
Public bug reported: Please sync libxxf86vm 1:1.1.0-1 (main) from Debian experimental (main). Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped: The only change is running autoreconf on the package, and it does it now on build, so can be synced. Changelog since current lucid version 1:1.0.2-1ubuntu1: libxxf86vm (1:1.1.0-1) experimental; urgency=low [ Timo Aaltonen ] * New upstream release. * Run autoreconf on build. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 448678] Re: Karmic: ThunderbirdXorg hog CPU
I am experiencing this problem on my home computer: Fresh install of 9.10 Karmic (GNOME), Athlon 2400+, 1GB DDR, Radeon All-In-Wonder 9600xt with Visual Effects turned off (None). Thunderbird is very sluggish, user interface is drawn slowly and there are 1-2 second delays before the interface responds when using any buttons or other elements. Network throughput seems to be OK, it's no faster or slower than usual to send or receive messages with attachments etc. I have another partition on this same computer with Ubuntu 9.04 but no problems with Thunderbird - it performs quickly and there are no delays or UI slowness. On my work computer: 3.00 GHz Intel C2D, 1GB, Intel integrated graphics (945 series I think?) with Visual Effects turned off (None), Ubuntu 9.10 upgrade from 9.04, I haven't noticed any problems although this is a much faster machine in general. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 490031] Re: Radeon 9250 no 3D.
I don't think so, I did not change anything in the BIOS. After I installed the updates for KDE 4.3.4 and rebooted, I landed in the console so I did: Start x and Gnome started up, so I booted the rescue system and edited the xorg.conf file by hand with Joe. I changed the driver too Radeon, and rebooted again. This time I had to chose the console and KDE started up fine. In the past I had also put the AGPmode option in this file, but when I tried this I landed in a black screen. In Jaunty the xorg.conf file was empty, and 3D with compiz worked just fine. Thanks for the suggestion. You first install the normal System Monitor Applet which is associated with the full detail System Monitor, and by default displays only CPU Utilization. Then right click it, open Preferences and check the Memory box and any others you might find interesting. When you mouse over the memory display you will see the different percentages. This is described on the second page of the information at the link supplied by wizwiz50. I am not sure what the rationale is for showing some details in the Panel which do not seem to be available in the full display. Based on his comments, I also plan to remove the System Monitor applet and see if it has any effect on the AisleRiot-induced crash.
