[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 498736] [NEW] black screen for chat
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: x11-xserver-utils I am running Karmic Koala (9.10). When I am using a software to chat (like xchat or kvirc), the screen becomes black for a second each N seconds. It seems that the frequence depends on the size of the window (per ex. when maximised the screen turns to black each 2 seconds). I get the same problem even disabling compiz (setting in appearence no effects). I would like a stable image and stay in a Linux environment. I didn't have this problem with Hardy Heron (8.04). Never tested Intrepid (8.10). I have found this problem, also in Jaunty (9.04). [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 425408] Re: Acer AspireOne D150-1577 Touchpad problem
I've got exactly the same problem. Noticed it first on 9.04. Updated to 9.10 and didn't resolve issue :( I have an Acer Aspire One D150-1Bb. It was very strange as you could click once on an app to launch it (e.g. firefox) but then you couldn't get firefox to focus and could then not click on it at all. Switching to a console terminal and killing X so that it then restarts would sometimes fix the issue, but not always. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 498693] [NEW] installation with two VGA cards
You have been subscribed to a public bug: instalation with two vga cards 1. One Hundred Paper Cuts 2. Questions 3. Question #94639 Hi, I'm new in this (100 Paper Cuts, not Ubuntu), my problem is this: When I try to install Ubuntu (Kubuntu too) if I not disable the PCI-E video card, the installation stops. I have two video cards, one is integrated with the motherboard (Intel 945GNTLR), and the other is an ATI x550xt PCI-E. It seems like the Operative System was a conflict detecting the two cards, and is not be able to handling successfully that conflict to continue with the installation. The problem solves (before the installation with the integrated card, disabling the PCI-E) adding in the directory /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf, the following line: blacklist intel_agp blacklist agpgart and then, in a terminal: sudo update-initramfs -u, reboot the system and everything runs correctly, using the PCI-E card. When I discover the page 100 Paper Cuts, first in my memory came this problem, so, I post it. Many times I have to unplug and plug VGA cards for the installation of Ubuntu/Kubuntu, and many many people have to deal with this problem. Read this link for more information: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1308919 . Thanks for read this. I hope this helps in some form to the project. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 498693] Re: installation with two VGA cards
Thank you for bringing this bug to our attention. However, a paper cut should be a small usability issue, in the default Ubuntu install, that affects many people and is quick and easy to fix. So this bug can't be addressed as part of this project. - This is a hardware specific issue , Hence not a papercut For further information about papercuts criteria, please read https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PaperCut. Don't worry though, this bug has been marked as Invalid only in the papercuts project. ** Project changed: hundredpapercuts = xserver-xorg-video-intel ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-intel Status: New = Invalid ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-intel Status: Invalid = New -- installation with two VGA cards https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/498693 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is the registrant for xf86-video-intel. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 314928] Re: [i915GM] MTRR entry gets removed when restarting xorg - causes corruption on ttys
I don't know how to change the status, but the xserver-xorg-video-intel 2.9 on Ubuntu Karmic is still unclaimed on my Dell Studio 15 when I check 'lshw -C display'. Performance is still a little laggy, I'm using compiz but a lot of the animations lag pretty easily, and VMware always gives me an error about my video card being incompatible. I tried rolling back to the 2.4 driver but that didn't fix it and almost fubar'ed my system o_0 -- [i915GM] MTRR entry gets removed when restarting xorg - causes corruption on ttys https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/314928 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is the registrant for xf86-video-intel. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 123775] Re: Elantech touchpad is incorrectly recogonised as a ImPS/2 Logitech Wheel Mouse
I confirm this bug in Karmic (2.6.31-16-generic) with an Asus UL30A- QX105V laptop. I have the same result as everyone else : a working touchpad but misrecognized as an ImPS/2 Logitech Wheel Mouse and therefore not taken care by Synaptics driver. I tried to reload the psmouse module with each proto parameter option with no luck. I tried to compile an old kernel provided by the package linux-source-2.6.31 with and without a patch to add an elantech parameter to the psmouse module ( http://git.array.org/?p=array/ubuntu-intrepid.git;a=commit;h=4e03ed0eabce7165c932a50c94fc8ee53ba23c4f ) but neither of them worked. It is very annoying not to be able to fine tune the touchpad via Synaptics even if it works ok for a basic usage. I would be very happy to provide further information/testing if needed. Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 374090] Re: [VX800] Samsung NC20 installation problem(test pattern on screen)
Till now external monitor was not working. I updated the latest to latest openchrome version on Samsung NC20 today. External monitor is working now. That is a great thing and I am not limited to my small screen any more. Thanks very much guys. I am not sure of the crash/freeze. I will report it if I observe it. But, when I play videos I can see it on laptop monitor. On the external monitor I see a green box in place of video. If I change to full screen mode, I see full green external monitor.
