[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 537801] Re: Touchscreen doesn't work after karmic-lucid upgrade
Now that the freeze has been lifted I upgraded to the new -evdev. Things don't work, but if I move 69-xserver-xorg-input-wacom.rules out of the way and reboot, they work fine with -evdev. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 537640] Re: video problem flicker unreadable hp compaq nx9420 ati radeon
I see a similar problem on a HP Pavilion dv2 after upgrading from 9.10. The video card as reported by lspci is: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Mobility Radeon HD 3400 Series The problem also appears using the live CD. I followed the instructions for removing fglrx and reinstalling the ati driver, but it didn't help. Using the radeonhd driver the flicker goes away, but rendering is very slow. I set up dual displays using System-Preferences-Display as a mirror. I have noticed that the external viewsonic monitor suddenly goes blank and the display stops working. A message pops up saying No signal. The notebook display however, is working fine. On the two occassions that this has happened, I was using the mouse. In the first instance, some link in Firefox and in the recent incident, a mail header in thunderbird. as Xorg.0.log.old shows there seems to have been some problem with X (ddxSigGiveup) which made the second monitor go blank. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 509273] Re: [Lucid] ATI KMS causes DRM error on X200M
Exact information on which commit causes this problem (from the the freedesktop bug): Starting with the 2.6.31 kernel, KMS works fine until this commit: 3e5cb98dfe87cc61d0a1119dd8aa2b1e4cfab424 After this commit, xdm freezes at the login screen, but I can still switch to another virtual terminal. My dmesg log has the message described in comment #3 repeated several times. This behavior continues until commit: 6b46362c0ea472b174c336786fd406c504326ad4 After this commit, I experience the behavior described in comment #1. I am now using X server 1.7.5 and the latest git versions of mesa, libdrm, and ddx. -- [Lucid] ATI KMS causes DRM error on X200M https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/509273 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is a direct subscriber. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 542660] [NEW] New Apple iMac (Core i5) fails to boot
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg Lucid beta 1 fails to boot on my Apple iMac 27 (Core i5 model). I am happily running Karmic (had to download backport Alsa to get sound working), but Lucid beta 1 fails to boot. You initially see the new purple Ubuntu loader, then it goes black - CD continues to whirl and after it sounds like it is loading in the background it resets and restarts. Suspect problem with video - I can get it to boot if I select option F6 and selectnomodes (I think thats what it was called) - it boots fine (I am running it now). Question: Would this stop me upgrading from Karmic? If you need any more info, please email.
