Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 395932] Re: [i855] (Needs intel 2.10) No Xv support for 82852/855GM (KMS bug)
Thank you Robert Hooker for your help but the issue is same the message is alway present in xorg.0.log but with the 2.10.9xx the problem is resolved. 2010/3/29 Robert Hooker sarv...@gmail.com braseb: try enabling the driver, then going to system - preferences - keyboard, pick layouts, then options, and enable the key sequence to kill the X server option, and finally press control+alt+backspace -- [i855] (Needs intel 2.10) No Xv support for 82852/855GM (KMS bug) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/395932 You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber of a duplicate bug. [Update] From the Q4 anouncment [1]: Video overlay support with KMS is now supported in xserver-xorg-video-intel 2.10.0. This currently requires Linux 2.6.33, but a backport to 2.6.32 (Lucid version) is available from [2]. Daniel Vetter intends to support this backport which is intended for distros that use kernel 2.6.32 [3]. Although the main code is in the kernel, intel driver 2.10.0 is apparently required [4]. Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 550477] Re: 1920 x 1080 HD displays outside frame of screen.
That's the thing though. The screen is a 1080p screen. (Or it's a limitation of the video card - which can't drive the higher setting. I can't tell which). The resolution selector doesn't state whether the resolution is 1080i or 1080p, and perhaps it should. See bug 550486 about the failure to identify the screen correctly. On 28 March 2010 22:14, Robert Hooker sarv...@gmail.com wrote: compensate for overscan somewhere in the menus. 1360x768 is the preferred mode to use though if the alternative is 1920x1080i and not 1920x1080p, it is the native resolution of your screen and will be sharper. -- Neil Wilson -- 1920 x 1080 HD displays outside frame of screen. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/550477 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-ati in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 341741] Re: New characters in Lao keymap
@Anousak: Is the proposed keyboard layout OK? If yes, I can submit a patch to Ubuntu before 9.04 release. Is it better to keep the new keyboard layout separated, so that users can choose, or shall I just overwrite the existing Lao layout? Shall the name be changed? @Brian (bountonw): If you have problems with word-wrapping or anything else language related, it would be great if you could test these issues with the latest ISO images of Ubuntu Lucid, and keep a wikipage on wiki.ubuntu.com to track those issues. Also, if you notice specific applications or packages misbehaving, please consider filing bug reports against those packages (or Ubuntu, if you don't know which package is of fault) and describe the issues as detailed as possible (what is expected? What is actually displayed? screenshots, steps to reproduce the problem, documents to illustrate and test the issue, etc.) This would help us greatly to improve Lao language support in Ubuntu. -- New characters in Lao keymap https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/341741 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xkeyboard-config in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 546933] Re: FFE: xorg.conf.d/inputclass backport
So the wacom rules had obsolete cruft in it, same as with the other drivers right now. Those will get cleaned when this hits the distros (sooner or later). I've uploaded a new xserver which unbreaks the ABI by renaming the inputclass-aware NewInputDeviceRequest() to NIDR18(), and added NIDR() back (it just returns NIDR18() with the added NULL for inputclass attrs, as suggested by jcristau). NIDR18() is only used internally by the udev backend, and it's not exported as server ABI. There's also a new wacom too which again includes the check for the new ABI, because with this xserver any upstream xf86-input-wacom release will continue to build, without any driver patching required. Wacom uses NIDR() to add the extra devices, and even with the new ABI it would just pass NULL to inputclass (because only the master device needs it anyway, and that's handled internally by the udev backend), so no functionality is lost there. -- FFE: xorg.conf.d/inputclass backport https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/546933 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
