[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 554855] Re: After suspend-resume on a duel screen setup, display settings are set to 'mirror screens'
Doesn't seem to be fixed for me... I have the exact same problem that is described at the beginning: "After suspend-resume with an external monitor and a laptop (embedded intel graphics), display settings are set to 'mirror screens'. The user must enter the Display preferences and re-configure the screens." I'm on an up-to-date 10.04 64-bit lucid system. What I can see, also, is that the screen is set to "mirror screens" during suspend, and not resume. I can see on the external monitor that the resolution changes on the attached second screen when suspending, and it stays when I resume. lscpi -vnnn (part of it): 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:2a42] (rev 07) Subsystem: Fujitsu Limited. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 629516] Re: edid cannot be read on Sony VPCCW2S1E and nouveau fails
I have tried the xorg-edgers ppa, where xserver-xorg-video-nouveau is slightly newer than that of Maverick (1:0.0.16+git20100827 vs git20100805), but it still fails. I guess the fix comes in the kernel level part of the driver, where nouveau git is using 2.6.36-rc3. So I might have to wait for 11.04 to get any chance to see nouveau working on that laptop... Until then I guess I'll have to stick to NVidia proprietary blob :( -- edid cannot be read on Sony VPCCW2S1E and nouveau fails https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/629516 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-nouveau in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 638808] Re: No unity board but White screen after GDM
Btw, make sure to restart X (e.g. `sudo service gdm restart` would do it). I found this resolved the white screen issue, but it is possible there are subsequent usage issues. Mark, some further info I've gleaned. The root cause here actually is not a bug in X, but rather that clutter has been depending on a bug in mesa which was fixed in mesa 7.9. My bisection work actually just restored the buggy code that clutter depends on. The proper fix is to fix Clutter... Specifically https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/clutter-1.0/+bug/632352 needs to be resolved. As I understand the bug, Mesa 7.8 would spam event notifications to all clients regardless of whether they wanted them. Clutter used this to do its updates. In Mesa 7.9, it changed to only send notices to clients that registered interest in them. Since clutter doesn't register interest, it doesn't get updated, so you just see a white screen. The patch in bug #632352 enables clutter to request these updates. The "fix" I uploaded causes mesa to resume its old spammy behavior. -- No unity board but White screen after GDM https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/638808 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to mesa in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 616997] Re: [RV515] Unity keeps reloading with a white background
If there isn't an error message to look at, then the only way you can analyze this problem really is via git bisection. Determine the most recent version of mesa that works for you, and the oldest version that fails, and then do a bisection search between them to find what patch causes the breakage. -- [RV515] Unity keeps reloading with a white background https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/616997 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to mesa in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 637083] Re: Cairo-dock very slow when using open gl
There isn't enough information provided to do any analysis on this bug. "very slow" is a vague symptom, there needs to be something more specific to go on.
