[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 641091] Re: erratic mouse behaviour after resume
Following the advice at http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/How_to_configure_the_TrackPoint, I have created a file /etc/pm/config.d/01reload_mouse with the following content: SUSPEND_MODULES=${SUSPEND_MODULES:+$SUSPEND_MODULES }psmouse And this fixes the issue. I guess the remaining questions are: 1. Is this the best way to force a module reload after resume? 2. Should this somehow be automatically enabled on E6410? 3. Is this acceptable solution, or psmouse should not lost sync in the first place, ever? -- erratic mouse behaviour after resume https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/641091 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-mouse in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 303697] Re: [fglrx] vsync issues - screen tearing unrelated to compiz
artik, I really think a lot of the blame (at least half?) belongs with the xorg devs. Fglrx worked great for me on intrepid. It wasn't until they improved X that the incompatibility issues began. I wouldn't be surprised if the devs are so excited by the prospect of finally being able to code their own drivers up to industry standards (since ati/amd opened their sources) that there just isn't as much interest in getting the proprietary drivers to work. --- On Tue, 8/31/10, artik 303...@bugs.launchpad.net wrote: From: artik 303...@bugs.launchpad.net Subject: [Bug 303697] Re: [fglrx] vsync issues - screen tearing unrelated to compiz To: laysa...@yahoo.com Date: Tuesday, August 31, 2010, 9:28 PM Still here in 10.8 ... I enabled vsync with Catalyst Control Center and running 'aticonfig --initial --input=/etc/X11/xorg.conf --overlay-type=Xv', but the video still tears. I tried several Xorg.conf settings but without any improvement. Removing Xorg.conf does not change anything. I have this problem since Hardy with a Radeon HD 3650. Even Windows XP with Catalyst driver tears. Some time ago I switched to a Radeon HD 4670 (see lspci-vvnn.log), but even this card tears. The videos tear and do not flicker. This bug also occurs with Compiz disabled. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 585651] Re: [LUCID] Cannot install on eDP laptops such as HP Elitebook 2540p or 8440p
Noting this bug is rated as having had a fix released, thought I'd put in my two cents worth. I have a beta Ubuntu Maverick and the mainline kernel dated 15th September (called by Ubuntu 2.6.36-999) on a HP2540p. When using the internal display, it still 'flashes', more correctly 'flickers' in my opinion. Not constantly, might be ten or so seconds between each flicker, on average. Its quite erratic. Its not really bad enough to call it 'unusable' even. Using an external display, its fine. (By the way, long term followers of this bug may remember my plan to use U 9.10, bad plan, using 9.10 leaves the box totally unable to recognise an external display at all. So not useful with a docking station...) -- [LUCID] Cannot install on eDP laptops such as HP Elitebook 2540p or 8440p https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/585651 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is the registrant for xf86-video-intel. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 641797] Re: package fglrx (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: fglrx kernel module failed to build
I also get this errors when try to install ATI driver on kernel linux- image-2.6.32-24.43. There is sign that this error is related to kernel update 2.6.32-24.43. Look at the DKMS build.log that OP posted: /var/lib/dkms/fglrx/8.723.1/build/2.6.x/kcl_ioctl.c: In function ‘KCL_IOCTL_AllocUserSpace32’: /var/lib/dkms/fglrx/8.723.1/build/2.6.x/kcl_ioctl.c:196: error: implicit declaration of function ‘compat_alloc_user_space’ In the changelog of 2.6.32-24.43 generic kernel there are the lines: * x86-64, compat: Retruncate rax after ia32 syscall entry tracing - CVE-2010-3301 * compat: Make compat_alloc_user_space() incorporate the access_ok() - CVE-2010-3081 I thinks these changes are related to fglrx build errors. I want to try a previous version of 2.6.32-24 generic kernel. Because ATI drivers works with 2.6.32-23 generic kernel. Anyone know where can I find the previous versions of 2.6.32-24 generic kernel? ** CVE added: http://www.cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=2010-3081 ** CVE added: http://www.cve.mitre.org/cgi- bin/cvename.cgi?name=2010-3301 -- package fglrx (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: fglrx kernel module failed to build https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/641797 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to fglrx-installer in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
