[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 682304] [NEW] bug when resize any window with keyboard in GNOME
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg 1) Press Alt+Space to open context menu for any window. 2) Select Resize. 3) Press Right several times, then Left several times 4) Press Down several times, then press Up several times 5) Press Left several times, then press Right several times 6) Pres Up several times, then press Down several times 7) Repeat steps 3 to 6 several times Resizing becomes completely buggy. Cursor becomes far away from any edge of a window. Width and height of window resizes in buggy way, window jumps, etc... A good example of keyboard resizing is in MsWindows. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 675765] Re: Screen corrupted after boot (white vertical bars)
Okay, I'm out of ideas. I did some research and it appears this bug is more widespread than I previously thought. It would seem there is a problem in the maverick kernel that prevents some nvidia drivers from loading according to certain reports. I guess my best bet is to wait for a kernel fix. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 482875] Re: [CLE266]Since upgrade from jaunty to karmic, one of two thin clients' login broken (AIGLX problem).
I found the same problem with an Aleutia E2 (VIA Eden CX700/VX700, openchrome), lucid, LTSP thin client. It appears to be caused by this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-session/+bug/673072 Note that it usually, but not always, fails to log in from ldm on the LTSP client. The session crashes after about 3 seconds of spinning wheel wait cursor, and I get kicked back to the login screen. There is a workaround that you could try in that bug report: force gnome to use metacity instead of compiz as the window manager. -- [CLE266]Since upgrade from jaunty to karmic, one of two thin clients' login broken (AIGLX problem). https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/482875 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-openchrome in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 677700] Re: Touchpad single-click registers double-click, and sometimes two middle-clicks
apport information ** Description changed: Using Synaptics touchpad, set to use single-clicks instead of double-clicks. Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick, 64-bit (clean install) on a Lenovo IdeaPad Y510 Single-clicks and tap-to-clicks register as double-clicks, and other weirdness Often and randomly, the left-click and sometimes the tap-to-click will register double-clicks instead of single-clicks. This results in problems like closing tabs in browsers when clicking on them. Also affects drags, which horribly screws up text when trying to drag a chunk of text from one place to another in the document. At times just moving the mouse across a document will result in selecting text, despite the fact that no double-click occurred to actually select any text, and the unintentionally-selected text is then dragged or copied and pasted to some other part of the document. Have also noticed that at times a single-click or tap-to-click results in something like two middle-clicks, or even a right-click and then the top-menu item. For instance, clicking on a tab in Chromium or Firefox doesn't simply select the tab, but instead opens two new tabs. This is a new problem on Maverick; it's never happened in the past, and doesn't occur using Windows in a virtual machine. I've seen similar bug reports, but they're old and for regular mice, not for touchpads. I'm not sure what debugging info to offer since this is so random and doesn't result in an actual crash. --- Architecture: amd64 DRM.card0.LVDS.1: status: connected enabled: enabled dpms: On modes: 1280x800 edid-base64: AP///wAGr3SAAAEQAQOAIRV4Chz1l1hQjicnUFQBAQEBAQEBAQEBAQEBAQEBxxsAoFAgFzAwIDYAS88QAAAYDwAg/gBBVU8KICAgICAgICAg/gBCMTU0RVcwOCBWMCAKAEU= DRM.card0.VGA.1: status: disconnected enabled: disabled dpms: On modes: edid-base64: DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 DkmsStatus: vboxhost, 3.2.10, 2.6.35-23-generic, x86_64: installed vboxhost, 3.2.10, 2.6.35-22-generic, x86_64: installed EcryptfsInUse: Yes InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat - Release Candidate amd64 (20100928) MachineType: LENOVO INVALID Package: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics 1.2.2-2ubuntu5 PackageArchitecture: amd64 ProcCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/vmlinuz-2.6.35-23-generic root=UUID=c0bf77ab-5be1-47b0-a53f-f5f7dc18fcbf ro splash vga=789 gfxpayload=true quiet quiet splash ProcEnviron: LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-23.40-generic 2.6.35.7 Tags: maverick maverick Uname: Linux 2.6.35-23-generic x86_64 UserGroups: adm admin audio cdrom dialout dip fax floppy fuse lpadmin plugdev sambashare tape vboxusers video dmi.bios.date: 01/20/2009 dmi.bios.vendor: LENOVO dmi.bios.version: 06CN33WW dmi.board.asset.tag: ATN12345678901234567 dmi.board.name: SPEEDY dmi.board.vendor: LENOVO dmi.board.version: 1.0 dmi.chassis.asset.tag: ATN12345678901234567 dmi.chassis.type: 10 dmi.chassis.vendor: LENOVO dmi.chassis.version: 1.0 dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnLENOVO:bvr06CN33WW:bd01/20/2009:svnLENOVO:pnINVALID:pvrLenovoIdeaPadY510:rvnLENOVO:rnSPEEDY:rvr1.0:cvnLENOVO:ct10:cvr1.0: dmi.product.name: INVALID dmi.product.version: Lenovo IdeaPad Y510 dmi.sys.vendor: LENOVO system: distro: Ubuntu codename: maverick architecture: x86_64 kernel: 2.6.35-23-generic --- Architecture: amd64 DRM.card0.LVDS.1: status: connected enabled: enabled dpms: On modes: 1280x800 edid-base64: AP///wAGr3SAAAEQAQOAIRV4Chz1l1hQjicnUFQBAQEBAQEBAQEBAQEBAQEBxxsAoFAgFzAwIDYAS88QAAAYDwAg/gBBVU8KICAgICAgICAg/gBCMTU0RVcwOCBWMCAKAEU= DRM.card0.VGA.1: status: disconnected enabled: disabled dpms: On modes: edid-base64: DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 DkmsStatus: vboxhost, 3.2.10, 2.6.35-23-generic, x86_64: installed vboxhost, 3.2.10, 2.6.35-22-generic, x86_64: installed EcryptfsInUse: Yes InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat - Release Candidate amd64 (20100928) MachineType: LENOVO INVALID Package: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics 1.2.2-2ubuntu5 PackageArchitecture: amd64 ProcCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/vmlinuz-2.6.35-23-generic root=UUID=c0bf77ab-5be1-47b0-a53f-f5f7dc18fcbf ro splash vga=789 gfxpayload=true quiet quiet splash ProcEnviron: LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-23.40-generic 2.6.35.7 Tags: maverick maverick Uname: Linux 2.6.35-23-generic x86_64 UserGroups: adm admin audio cdrom dialout dip fax floppy fuse lpadmin plugdev sambashare tape vboxusers video dmi.bios.date: 01/20/2009 dmi.bios.vendor: LENOVO dmi.bios.version: 06CN33WW dmi.board.asset.tag: ATN12345678901234567 dmi.board.name: SPEEDY dmi.board.vendor: LENOVO dmi.board.version: 1.0 dmi.chassis.asset.tag: ATN12345678901234567 dmi.chassis.type: 10
