[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 694430] [NEW] mesa bug affects new kernels

2010-12-26 Thread Jaime Sánchez
Public bug reported:

Hi,

There are graphics errors on wine when using ati free drivers and kernel
 2.6.36.2. The error is this
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24802 and it seems that the
correct way to solve it is to upgrade mesa.

Natty i386 is affected, using a 2.6.36.1 kernel or upgrading mesa from
xorg-edgers solves the problem.

Natty AMD64 is affected too, using 2.6.36.1 kernel solves the problem,
but using xorg-edgers doesn't solve the problem here, I guess ia32-libs
(mesa 32 bits¿?) needs to be upgraded too.

Regards
Jaime

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 694480] [NEW] [HD4350] Texture corruption in games (Nexuiz, Assaultcube)

2010-12-26 Thread Dave Gilbert
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati

Hi,
Just upgraded to current Natty Alphas.
I'm seeing moderate texture corruption in both Nexuiz and Assault cube on maybe
10%ish of the dispaly; it moves about to various bits of the game area, and it
mostly appears as a rainbowish sheen on some bits, or a bit of coloured noise
on other bits.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 660596] Re: Black screen after installing Nvidia drivers on 10.10

2010-12-26 Thread Oliver Siegmar
I've tested two cards. GeForce 6200 TurboCache runs perfectly with the
260.19.06 driver, but I had no luck with a brand new GeForce GT 240 -
black screen / system hangs when starting X. Unfortunately that card
isn't supported by the 195 driver, so I tried the 256 - system shows
login screen (KDM) but freezes when logging in. Using the nouveau
driver, the GT 240 card runs fine (but rather slow, and no 3D).

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 564181] Re: [RV730] GPU soft reset infinite loop scrolling in firefox with compiz

2010-12-26 Thread Chris Sherlock
Alex, that last error looks to be a different one to this bug. See bug
693754 which I filed yesterday - looks more likely to be relevant.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 667810] Re: No signal on external monitor but xrandr reports it is on

2010-12-26 Thread Charlie Kravetz
Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does
not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to
a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you
are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are
having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if
you are uncertain if they are bugs. For help on reporting bugs, see

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 557065] Re: frozen mouse/ keyboard

2010-12-26 Thread mpaq
Same problem with my configuration:

Mother board : ASUS P7P55D-E
CPU: i5 760
OS : UBUNTU 10.04 amd64 (LTS)
SWITCH : KVM for 2 PC (2*PS/2 connections for mouse and keyboard + 2 screen
connections)

After a random time: Freezing of the mouse and of the keyboard.
I did not find any particular messages in the log files (but I may have skip
it: If requested I can send you what your want)

PC is still working find: Connection trough VNC from my other PC is
working fine since I've suppress all animations in gnome settings...
(this other bug is still not solved)

Setting noacpi or nolacpi in grub default's did not change any thing

No problem under Win 7.

Is this problem also affecting 10.04 32 bit? (I'll prefer to work in 32
bits that to have to restart my new PC all the time)

Best regards

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 694655] [NEW] Nautilus lockup with jpg file thumbnail creation

2010-12-26 Thread Jonathon Foreman
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

I have been using trial of ubuntu from cdrom.

i have been trying to copy from XFS drive to FAT32, both are USB. Files
get only so far and nautilus stops dead. I have somewhat traced this to
having difficulties displaying thumbnails along with file names.
Folders hang up and all file activities crash. Can't unmount volumes,
etc. Killing nautilus doesn't help and I'm not skilled enough to get it
to restart. Some other crash reports include compiz process, but that
doesn't seem to help either.

There are hundreds of photos in this one folder.
