[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 579071] Re: savage_drv fails drawpix glDrawPixels demo/test/benchmark
Well, since I uploaded the lucid packages to my PPA (I added maverick also), you could just have installed those instead of the gallium and libdrm packages from the radeon PPA. However I have seen that this fix is not enough, after sleep/resume the back buffer is wrong again. You can switch between front and back buffer with the 'f' key in drawpix. When everything works, they should give the same result, just that drawing to the front buffer may give you some flicker if you for instance keep the picture moving by holding the up or down button. You mentioned that it worked fine in 8.04, I will try that out also. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to mesa in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/579071 Title: savage_drv fails drawpix glDrawPixels demo/test/benchmark ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Marco: it might be a duplicate, but I can't be sure. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 705078] Re: Xorg crashed with SIGSEGV in pixman_image_set_has_client_clip()
Hrm, unfortunately it looks like the apport retracer is choking, so the interpreted backtrace isn't valid. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 705078] Re: Xorg crashed with SIGSEGV in pixman_image_set_has_client_clip()
The above is making me wonder if this is just a symptom of something that changed in the kernel. Could you please provide a bit more context behind this crash? Was this the first time you tested natty livecd install on this hw, or have you been doing regular test installs up until now and it only regressed on this version? Have you experienced other instances of this X crash but only these two triggered apport? Have you run ubuntu on this hw previously, meaning that this is a regression - if so what version(s) successfully ran on it? Were you able to complete this particular installation, and if so what did you do to work around it? If not, have you attempted installation of a different snapshot? Any other information you can provide which may help narrow down the source of this issue? ** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/705078 Title: Xorg crashed with SIGSEGV in pixman_image_set_has_client_clip() ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Hi Bryce, Natty live CD install's haven't been functional for about a week, but they were working fine on both of the pieces of hardware that i've filed bugs on. Ubuntu's ran successfully with previous versions (10.10 and 10.04) on both pieces of hardware. I was able to complete the installation by forcing it to run in vesa and nomodeset. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/705078 Title: Xorg crashed with SIGSEGV in pixman_image_set_has_client_clip() ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 685682] Re: [fglrx] compiz crashed with SIGSEGV in nux::IOpenGLSurface::UnlockRect()
Response from AMD on the question of t_f_p support. Please review and indicate if compiz/unity is dependent on something this list shows as not supported? -- We support texture_from_pixmap in direct rendering mode (mutter uses this as we discussed before), and all of the limitations for direct rendering are the same as indirect rendering as far as I know, some of the limitations I know are: 1. Compiz can not run in direct mode, because we uses some X functions in our driver, like XOpenDisplay in ADL which will cause soft hang for compiz uses XGrabServer. 2. The spec allows: Accepted by the Buffer parameter of glXBindTexImageEXT and glXReleaseTexImageEXT: GLX_FRONT_LEFT_EXT 0x20DE GLX_FRONT_RIGHT_EXT0x20DF GLX_BACK_LEFT_EXT 0x20E0 GLX_BACK_RIGHT_EXT 0x20E1 GLX_FRONT_EXT GLX_FRONT_LEFT_EXT GLX_BACK_EXT GLX_BACK_LEFT_EXT GLX_AUX0_EXT 0x20E2 GLX_AUX1_EXT 0x20E3 GLX_AUX2_EXT 0x20E4 GLX_AUX3_EXT 0x20E5 GLX_AUX4_EXT 0x20E6 GLX_AUX5_EXT 0x20E7 GLX_AUX6_EXT 0x20E8 GLX_AUX7_EXT 0x20E9 GLX_AUX8_EXT 0x20EA GLX_AUX9_EXT 0x20EB But we only support GLX_FRONT_LEFT_EXT now. 3. Applications can specify the texture format according to spec, but the pixmap format is BGRA in most of the time, so if app specifies non BGRA format, corruption will occur. Unfortunately compiz does like this. Current implementation is to use the format determined by depth internally regardless the app specified format. It seems that NV doesn't allow app to use GLX_TEXTURE_FORMAT_RGBA, and only GLX_TEXTURE_FORMAT_RGB is allowed, otherwise X error is reported. 4. X coordinate system are different from OpenGL coordinate system, we workaround the Y inverted issue currently, the difficulty is how to tell glTexImage2D and glTexSubImage2D about the Y inverted info when they are used by GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap. 5. No mipmap support, No TEXTURE_1D support -- ** Changed in: compiz (Ubuntu Natty) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to fglrx-installer in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/685682 Title: [fglrx] compiz crashed with SIGSEGV in nux::IOpenGLSurface::UnlockRect() ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 705295] Re: Xorg crashed with SIGSEGV in CreateSolidPicture()
Hi Bryce, I was running a Live install from the natty-desktop-i386.iso built on 20-Jan-2011. As Ubuntu was booting a dialog box appeared stating that my HW was not able to support Unity and gave me the option of choosing the Classic User session. I chose this option and Ubuntu came up. Immediately I began to get dialog boxes stating that various applications had unexpectedly quit and could be reloaded. The following apps issued the unexpected exit dialogs: Show Desktop Window List Workspace switcher Trash Notification Area Indication Applet Indication Applet Session Clock Clock SEGV'd and this was where the error reporting began. My HW is an Intel Atom based motherboard. Here are the details dmi.bios.date: 07/29/2009 dmi.bios.vendor: Intel Corp. dmi.bios.version: LF94510J.86A.0229.2009.0729.0209 dmi.board.asset.tag: Base Board Asset Tag dmi.board.name: D945GCLF dmi.board.vendor: Intel Corporation dmi.board.version: AAE27042-400 dmi.chassis.type: 3 If you need additional information I will be happy to provide it. Bryce Harrington Hey, tell me more... the backtrace doesn't reveal what the problem is, so I need a more detailed description of your situation, your hardware, etc. ** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete ** Visibility changed to: Public -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/705295 Title: Xorg crashed with SIGSEGV in CreateSolidPicture() ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
