[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 735602] [NEW] FFE: add xinput-calibrate to natty
You have been subscribed to a public bug: The evdev driver needs a calibrator for touchscreens, since -evtouch is obsolete and the calibrator that was shipped with it doesn't work with evdev. From [1]: A generic touchscreen calibration program for X.Org. xinput_calibrator is created to fill the gap of touchscreen calibration software, featuring: works for any standard Xorg touchscreen driver (uses XInput protocol) mis-click detection (prevents bogus calibration) dynamically recalibrates the evdev driver outputs the calibration as xorg.conf.d snippet or HAL policy file and more We need it, because there is no calibrator left after evtouch is removed. The author has packaged it for several distributions, including Debian and Ubuntu, and the package has gone through Debian Mentor review [2] (most of which have been fixed since). The packaging is currently at the same place as the upstream code [3], but will move got git.debian.org under pkg-xorg team maintenance. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 573006] Re: Touch screen driver clicks at wrong location
Hi nh2, To help us reproduce the issue, please generate a recording of your touchscreen. Instructions may be found here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Multitouch/Testing/uTouchEvEmu#Debugging Because this bug involves the X evdev input module, you do not need to do any VT switching. You can skip steps 3, 4 and 9. Please attach the device.prop and device.record files to the bug. Thanks! ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-input-evdev (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-input-evdev (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Medium -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-evdev in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/573006 Title: Touch screen driver clicks at wrong location ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 599017] Re: [gm45] Xorg freeze on Firefox on one particular page
Hi Etienne, thanks for providing the information that was requested. However, you can see from the contents of intel_error_decode.txt that no data was captured in this case. The two log files also do not appear to contain relevant error messages. Please note that these things need to be collected after reproducing the issue while the system is still frozen (by sshing into it), but before rebooting. intel_error_decode may need to be run as sudo too, I don't recall if this was required on Lucid. I attempted loading this URL in firefox on a 945 running Natty, reloading the page 30 times, as well as letting it sit idle for 20 min but did not reproduce it. Also I did 30 reloads and 20 min idle on a 965 running the same code, and did not reproduce it there either. So this supports comment #10 that the issue was likely fixed during Maverick development. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/599017 Title: [gm45] Xorg freeze on Firefox on one particular page ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 735122] Re: Samsung Q35 trackpad unreliable in Maverick
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: I recently installed Maverick fresh on my Samsung Q35 laptop. Since then, the trackpad has been unreliable. When dragging and dropping (ie keeping the left mouse button down while moving a finger across the trackpad), if I run out of trackpad I lift and move my finger while continuing to hold the mouse button down and then continue moving my finger across the trackpad (like you do with the mouse when you run out of desk). - On Maverick, if I lift and restart dragging my finger too quickly (in - some applications anyway), the trackpad seems to interpret that as - having 'dropped' whatever it is I'm dragging and dropping. Leading to - fun trying to track down emails that have ended up in the wrong - folder... It seems to affect some applications better or worse than - others. Sometimes if I'm slow at lifting then replacing my finger, it's - fine (it realises I'm still in the same drag-drop process) but sometimes - it's really tricky to do that. It's also unnatural. + On Maverick, if I lift and restart dragging my finger too quickly (in some applications anyway), the trackpad seems to interpret that as having 'dropped' whatever it is I'm dragging and dropping.
