[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 705949] Re: (Needs Q4 -intel) [Arrandale] Gateway NV79 Backlight and Monitor trouble
I'm glad to finally find some references to my exact problem, but it looks like they've died out. Anyway, yes, it's a real problem. Everything worked fine for six months then release 2.6.35-27 killed it for me. (Unless I keep an external monitor around to plug into.) Sad really. This is the longest I've been able to stick with Linux, but after 2 weeks of banging my head against the wall it looks like it's back to Windows. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/705949 Title: (Needs Q4 -intel) [Arrandale] Gateway NV79 Backlight and Monitor trouble ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 743331] [NEW] [945GME] old window contents left on background
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel This is an asus 1001ha netbook; I'm running off a natty daily iso and having found the installer was struggling on the small screen I plugged in my dell s2409w 1920x1080 lcd. It's correctly set it up and the contents of the window are rendered ok, but if I drag a window the old contents of the window are left on the background in various places - so I have 3 or 4 copies of parts of the contents of my terminal window from where it previously was. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 727979] Re: Screen flicker approx. every 30 seconds
I have the same problem on natty64 with VGA video projectors. I tested it with two computers with two different drivers (xf86-video-ati, xf86-video-nouveau). I tested it with three different video projector. I tested it with three different VGA cables. I tested it with kernels 2.6.35, 2.6.37, 2.6.38 I tested it with libdrm(i.e. libkms) 2.4.21, 2.4.23 (remark here i didn't reboot) And it always flickered (with exception 3. projector see below). Remark with two of three projectors I used addmode since the drivers didn't recognize the native resolution of the beamer. Everything always worked well if I used my old Gentoo (2.6.33 - but with KMS,ati and with addmode) With the 3. projector in natty it worked properly because it recognized the native resolution. But if I added an other resolution to it and changed to that it flickered again. so it's possible It has some thing to do with --addmode I think this worked on Maverik but I'm not sure since I didn't use --addmode much Did any of the others here use addmode? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-nouveau in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/727979 Title: Screen flicker approx. every 30 seconds ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 491483] Re: Since failsafe-x was enabled in karmic it starts if gdm is disabled and kdm is used. (low graphics mode error)
This bug still re-appears in lucid. The underlying problem seems to be that /etc/init.d/failsafe-x.conf is in the wrong package. x11-common should know nothing about gdm and yet here is a gdm referencing file, so as soon as you stop using gdm 2.3, the system is broken. This file should be in the gdm package - along with its supporting cast of files, or perhaps in a separate package where there is need for common elements amongst display managers. I came up against this problem with re-deploying gdm 2-20 in the lucid environment (to get multi-seat working). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/491483 Title: Since failsafe-x was enabled in karmic it starts if gdm is disabled and kdm is used.
