[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 793042] [NEW] greater changed to ellipsis in hungarian layout
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xkeyboard-config Hy! Since I upgraded to natty, the greater symbol changed to the ellipsis symbol on the period key, what I consider as a bug as I and many others I know use that key the old way.. There are less / greater keys on Hungarian layout also on í and y keys but these located far from each other on many stupid laptop keyboards (the í key often moved to the right side of the keyboard) so it's more comfortable to use the other two (m and .) So please roll back this change! ** Affects: xkeyboard-config (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: regression-release ** Tags added: regression-release -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xkeyboard-config in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/793042 Title: greater changed to ellipsis in hungarian layout ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

I can confirm this happens over on my side too. Im using a Sony Vaio NR series notebook with an integrated intel card. The auto logouts usually happen when im using Firefox. One minute im browsing, the next im greeted with the login screen. A very, very, annoying and frustrating bug. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 778490] Re: Random logout after upgrading to Natty Narwhal 11.04
Post #71 Continued... Apport Backtrace: - Temporarily forced using: sudo service apport start force_start=1 - Simulated the condition for crash/logout - Logged back but no notification from update-notifier - Checked /var/crash/executable_path.uid.crash but no report found there Looks like apport fails to report the crash. Could it be a GPU lockup? https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Troubleshooting/Freeze Workaround: I reported a workaround that worked with my laptop. Since then I have consistently verified the workaround. If the laptop is powered on AC main there are no crash/logouts. Auto logouts only when using battery power. Could power management linked to GPU lockup. Wild guess: Some kind of wait/timeout issue? [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 793217] [NEW] unity mouse pad three-finger paste stopped working
Public bug reported: In unity on 11.04 on a Macbook pro 6,2 the touchpad used to have two-finger scroll and three-finger taps for pasting text (in a terminal or elsewhere). The 3-finger taps don't work anymore. A workaround is exchanging buttons using synclient: 'synclient TapButton2=2 ; synclient TapButton3=3', but this disables other features (like zooming in gnuplot x11 windows). I don't know to which package/process this issue is related, since synclient works, so somewhere a configuration has been changed. ** Affects: nvidia-graphics-drivers (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/793217 Title: unity mouse pad three-finger paste stopped working ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

hi people, for having a grphic-mode, I have switched back to the experimental noveau-driver and this works for me. This driver is correctly recognized and in use. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 745112] Re: [arrandale] desktop is messed up (goes black) when laptop is docked with two external 1920x1200 monitors (x86_64)
From Bryce's #29, I tested acelan's kernel from http://people.canonical.com/~acelan/bugs/lp753189/ linux- image-2.6.38-8-generic At first this looked promising because the machine did start up with both displays working, and I could switch it to using only the external display. However, after toggling through setups a few times using Fn-F7, eventually the machine got stuck with neither display active; after about ten seconds in that state in spontaneously powered down. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/745112 Title: [arrandale] desktop is messed up (goes black) when laptop is docked with two external 1920x1200 monitors (x86_64) ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 793310] [NEW] Screen freeze when changing displays
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg I use a laptop as my primary machine. About 70% of the time it's connected to an external monitor. The rest of the time I use it on its own. I've always had problems switching between the two. Prior to the Natty upgrade, if I switched from the monitor to the laptop and then unplugged the machine, the display would turn off and I couldn't get it back without doing a hard reset. Since the Natty upgrade, the problems have gotten worse. The plugging/unplugging issue persists (though sometimes I can get the screen back by unplugging/replugging a second time). But another problem has cropped up. Since upgrading to Natty, when switching between displays, the screen will just freeze. I can still see everything, sometimes even move my mouse around, but the system doesn't respond to any clicking or keyboard strokes. My only option is to power down the machine and restart it. This happens when switching—I turn one display off and the other one on. I can sometimes avoid this issue by turning on both displays at the same resolution first, applying the changes, and then going back and turning off the second one. But that's not failproof either. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 793329] [NEW] screen not rendering properly
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg This past friday, I rebooted by ubuntu system. It came up and I was able to log in, but the screen was not rendering properly. The unity menu on the right was basically invisible, the top menu bar was not rendering, the entire screen was hazy, and there were other artifacts on the screen that arent supposed to be there. I suspected that the cause of the problem was caused by one of the xserver packages. I noted that xserver-xorg-core and xserver-common were updated that Wednesday from 2:1.10.1-1ubuntu1 to 2:1.10.1-1ubuntu1.1. I downgraded to the previous version of these two packages and rebooted. Same thing. Then I rebooted again and the problem seemed to have gone away. At this point, I was somewhat confident that I could resolve the problem if it happened again so I upgraded those two packages to there most recent version. The problem occured again, but this time downgrading didn't help, which was bizzare. I reinstalled ubuntu and then explicitly didn't allow the xserver-xorg-core and xserver-common packages to be upgraded. Everything was fine for the rest of the day but that evening, the display froze. I rebooted to recover and the problem came back. I have reseated the graphics card but that didn't help. I also noted that I was able to use the Ubuntu Safe Mode session in GDM and the desktop looks fine. This leads me to believe it is a problem with the unity interface, or some 3d code that gets invoked when I'm running in normal mode. So the specific sequence is: - boot computer - things look fine on the screen - gdm runs to collect login information, things look fine on the screen - ubuntu desktop appears but rendered improperly. artifacts appear on the screen I am filing this bug from safe mode so I'm not sure if the logs captured by it will have the relevant information. I do have Xorg.log from when I ran in normal mode and saw the problem and can attach that if necessary.
