[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 745304] Re: Graphics corruption after hibernate with Intel GMA 3150 chipset
Just as a notice: the described problem can be workaround by doing sleep (aka standby aka in-memory-suspend) after resuming from hibernation. I.e. the system is restored from hibernation, the screen is broken (only the right 1/10 of the screen works). Then press Ctrl+Alt+F2, type your login, Enter, type your password, Enter, type sudo pm-suspend, Enter (then your password again and Enter again if your sudo is configured to ask password), wait until it falls asleep, then move your mouse to wake it up -- and VOILA -- the screen now works ok. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/745304 Title: Graphics corruption after hibernate with Intel GMA 3150 chipset To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/745304/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 807906] [NEW] [DH67BL] Suspend is not working consistently
Public bug reported: Hi, I have a DH67BL Intel motherboard with Core i3-2100, and I'm running natty. When I try to suspend the computer it sometimes freezes before suspending, and sometimes doesn't wake up after resuming. I was successful suspending the computer with gdm stopped, from the console, and even from gdm login screen, but when I try to suspend from Unity, either the computer freezes with a blank screen, and doesn't suspend, or it does suspend but doesn't resume afterwards. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 744187] Re: [g45] Black screen on boot acer travelmate 5735Z, intel gma 4500mhd
Confirmed for TravelMate 5735z with intel gma 4500MHD on Natty 64-bit. The problem does however not appear for me if I already use the backlight adjustment keys (fn + left arrow) during the bios boot screen. The backlight adjustment does however not work in natty anymore. Adding options acpi_osi=Linux acpi_backlight=legacy in GRUB (like in bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/518002) enabled backlight adjustment using fn+arrow keys. This also allows for turning backlight back on when encountering a black screen. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/744187 Title: [g45] Black screen on boot acer travelmate 5735Z, intel gma 4500mhd To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/744187/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 600178] Re: Screen tearing when dragging window, in videos and other large screen redraws (on nVidia GPU)
I can as well confirm that I do not get tearing with compiz when I enable Force full screen redraws. I've used the video you posted to test – thank you very much for the link by the way. I first started to experience tearing in 10.10. Although back then once I enabled vsync to be forced for OpenGL the problem disappeared for as long as I used compiz. In the new version of compiz (0.9.x) though, there are obviously some bugs concerning redraws – some regions of the screen often seem not to redraw properly as if they were wrongly marked as unchanged. This issue causes a multitude of problems one of which probably is that the tearing is now visible in OpenGL mode as well. At least the fact that the tearing disappears once we force full screen redraws seems to indicate this... So I basically think we might be facing two issues here – one in the nvidia driver/x server that causes the tearing in the first place and then another one that now makes it happen in OpenGL mode with vsync enabled as well. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/600178 Title: Screen tearing when dragging window, in videos and other large screen redraws (on nVidia GPU) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz/+bug/600178/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 807620] Re: Fixes tablets not working after suspend
** Description changed: I have an HP 2710p Tablet PC running Xubuntu 11.04, which features a wacom tablet. The stylus always works on first boot, but as soon as I sleep and then resume the system, the stylus stops working. It's still listed in xinput list, but it just wouldn't work. It seems the problem lies in the kernel module, so I'm not sure that this is the right way to do this, but unloading the wacom module before sleep and then adding it back after resume seems to make everything work correctly. Question: why isn't this included in Ubuntu by default? I've had this problem since leaving Xubuntu 10.04 for 10.10, and now 11.04.. I've attached a patch to apply to /var/lib/dpkg/info/xserver-xorg-input- wacom.preinst But if you want to just fix your own system, simply make a script in /etc/pm/sleep.d named 75_wacom, and put this into it: #!/bin/sh # load and unload wacom module for suspend and hibernate case $1 in thaw|resume) modprobe wacom ;; suspend|hibernate) modprobe -r wacom ;; esac + Then run sudo chmod +x /etc/pm/sleep.d/75_wacom and hey presto! Your + tablet works again. + Thanks, Ubuntu is cool. p.s. this was based off of moaxey's work at http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-1686278.html ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04 Package: xorg 1:7.6+4ubuntu3.1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.38-8.42-generic 2.6.38.2 Uname: Linux 2.6.38-8-generic x86_64 Architecture: amd64 CompizPlugins: No value set for `/apps/compiz-1/general/screen0/options/active_plugins' CompositorRunning: None Date: Fri Jul 8 12:19:44 2011 DistUpgraded: Fresh install DistroCodename: natty DistroVariant: ubuntu EcryptfsInUse: Yes GraphicsCard: - Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (primary) [8086:2a02] (rev 0c) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) -Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Device [103c:30c8] -Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Device [103c:30c8] + Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (primary) [8086:2a02] (rev 0c) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) + Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Device [103c:30c8] + Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Device [103c:30c8] InstallationMedia: Xubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal - Release amd64 (20110427) MachineType: Hewlett-Packard HP Compaq 2710p (#ABA) ProcEnviron: - LANGUAGE=en_US:en - LANG=en_US.UTF-8 - SHELL=/bin/bash + LANGUAGE=en_US:en + LANG=en_US.UTF-8 + SHELL=/bin/bash ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.38-8-generic root=UUID=10075b3d-bbec-4b09-93e0-b9a42fcc47c8 ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 Renderer: Unknown SourcePackage: xorg Symptom: display UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) dmi.bios.date: 01/22/2010 dmi.bios.vendor: Hewlett-Packard dmi.bios.version: 68MOU Ver. The status is that there are multiple reports of this being fixed in kernel version 3.0, and if this is true then the issue is fixed for oneiric. We're currently undergoing a process known as bisection to identify what changes fixed the problem in 3.0 so that the problem can be fixed in earlier versions. Anyone experiencing this issue can help with the bisection process by testing the bisect builds that I am posting and reporting whether or not the crash is occuring for each of the builds. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-ati in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/727620 Title: [Radeon HD 5650 and 5470] Kernel BUG during recovery boot and in normal boot (Hybrid graphics) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/727620/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 240738] Re: syndaemon sometimes fails to disable the touchpad
I believe there are a lot more people affected. This is the only reason that I am still using OS X since I got the MCP about 9 months ago. I also think this is a problem affecting all the laptops with large touchpad. Before I bought the MBP, I tried the HP Envy 15, with exactly the same problem. I also see that the new Dell XPS 15z Laptop also has this problem. Hope the Linux developer community can get this fixed soon. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/240738 Title: syndaemon sometimes fails to disable the touchpad To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/+bug/240738/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
